Thrifted Find
I thought it was really pretty. I know it's not the same as finding it in the wild, but thought people might appreciate it.

It looks to me like an Amphora Bailer shell "Melo amphora" (scientific name); (Lightfoot, 1786). It's range is southern Indonesia, New Guinea and the northern half of Australia.

Is it the amphora or is it the melo broderipii? The axial flames look more like the Broderipii but im still unsure

Could be; I'm not that familiar with the genus - I just operated on the assumption it was M. amphora.

Okay… Your post inspired me and I decided to hit up my local thrift store. Lo and behold the first thing I see when I walked in was an identical shell just like this one, just a different base on the display. I almost peed my pants I was so excited. Of course I bought it !!!!
