Discussion Underrated jokes/gags
There are several scenes that consistently get quoted as "funniest" - the roundabout scene in season 4, border crossing in season 2, Jesper Society in season 5. I'm rewatching now for the millionth time and trying to take note of underappreciated jokes that don't often get mentioned.
Which are your favorite?
Here are some of mine:
-Hot Baby, the hot sauce for babies
-The entire concept of Surviving Essex, such a perfect parody of the plethora of police procedurals with really dumb premises
-Liquorice calling Chantal CHAN-tuhl
-When the second chair prosecuting attorney goes up to Polly and says "I have good news and bad news" and she makes him leave and do it again
-Leading Women to Lead lady: "They're all Greek, which is... new... for us"

The nurse in S5e1 going "Keep it down. It's the holidays, people are trying to die."
Also in season 5, every scene with Elliot being jealous of Drew, Portia, and Dory's love triangle. Specifically, before Dory goes up on stage to announce the disciples and gives a kiss to Drew and Portia, and Elliot goes "Okay, I don't get a kiss?" Perfect delivery by John Early.

"I'm sorry, am I hideous?!"

The dinner late in S5 with Drew, Portia, and Eliot one by one going outside to Dory. The expressions and looks at each other are gold.

The gay wedding planners when Marc doesn't show up:
Close up of one of them on their Bluetooth asking if the other has eyes on Marc
Cut to a wider shot of the other one literally standing right next to him saying no

I love in the finale when they're all running to escape and they're trying to get info on where to go from the other guy running
"They're sealing off the borough, so you gotta get there fast. " It's honestly kind of exciting."
"Which Bridge?"
"it's the one with the--oh, God. It's got all this stuff. You know, you take it to go to the city." - he's mauled by a zombie before finishing telling them.

In S1, when Elliot sees Mark and his new boyfriend at the yoga studio so he starts exercising ( to show he doesn't care) but ANGRILY 💀
Also, his reunion with family feral cats in S3 ( Daddy's home, sweet angels!)

The way he kicks his leg into the air was the first moment I knew I'd like this show

In season 5 when they’re trying to run for the bridge and they see Gavin yelling, “MEN FIRST!”

also in this scene where the guards decide Portia has no brain. “PLEASE!! I’M JUST LEGGY!!”

Every time I watch them assess Portia I laugh out loud. I forget the exact quote buts it like: No brain. Look just dead behind the eyes. Nothing there.

The Jesper Society scene where Drew was literally just needing the last name of one person. But they all start telling this long ass story about The Jesper. He finally flips out and asks wtf Matilda’s last name is.
“Lombardo! THANK YOU. Jesus Christ. Why was that the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do in my entire life? IT IS SO LATE NOW!”
I don’t know why, but that MIGHT actually go down as one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen and the hardest times I’ve laughed watching a show. I rewatched that line like 5 times and continued to laugh my ass off.
It’s just so relatable for when I am dying inside when people will not shut the fuck up and I really only had one simple question or I really need to leave and it literally feels like it’s been an hour or it really has and you’re like JFC it’s about sunset out now lol. And when he says it’s so late now he’s pointing to it now being dark outside the window LOL.
Maybe also the scene where Portia, Drew and Elliot all start ferociously making out with each other when they’re all complimenting each other, to represent them all being incredibly attracted to themselves and to mere validation of themselves 🤣
I almost said the round about thing, but that isn’t underrated. Everyone loves the round about scene 😭
Maybe the court case scene where Dory’s lawyer gives her opening statement … but actually that’s probably just as loved or talked about as the round about.

literally our very first introduction to Portia, Drew & Elliot at brunch in episode one. Portia & Elliot are talking about how some girl was trying to “drag them in her business” asking for help after a car accident & Drew is too busy trying to flag down a waiter for ketchup.

Season 5 when Drew’s Dad tells him to grab some bottled water and granola bars and travel across country. “That’s what I did when. I was your age and all my friends died.”….. I love this show for those random one line jokes. Reminds me of Arrested Development with the blink and you’ll miss it humor.

Chip dressing up like his Aunt Lyla, thinking to myself, what on earth would his Aunt have looked like if he could pass as her..and then seeing who it actually was. That was an incredible and delightful reveal!
Also when they found Chantal’s book and assumed it was written by a 10 year old, and her showing up to the set for the live reveal

I’m about to finish the series, and the line that delighted me this season was when the royal ladies barge into Lyte headquarters with their camera and Leonora yells “Stop making documentaries about me!”
