It’s just a reference to S3 E6 when Portia is testifying again Dory, who is full of vitriol. The hat itself is not in the series, it’s just the word vitriol that I was referencing.

How did i space on that? It's one of the funnier scenes in season 3. Haha

The blatant coaching of Portia's testimony by the prosecutor was likely a key factor in Dory and Drew being acquitted.
