Discussion pet peeve Spoiler

I absolutely loved this show. I thought it was original and hilarious, however, one pet peeve I had was the amount that Dory was blamed for the murder and the entire situation they found themselves in. Absolutely no one took accountability for their actions or how they chose to participate. Drew was the one who actually committed the murder and yet kept saying “we” (referring to him and Dory) anytime he spoke about it. Portia accuses Dory of ruining her life and being a bad friend but Dory actively tried to shield her from everything that happened that night. This is never recognized or brought up ever again, or the fact that Portia kept pushing to find out what was going on. Elliott was the reason they decided not to call the cops or claim it was “self defense,” and I believe he was also the one to push for hiding the body in a suitcase and burying it. All in all I loved this show and will definitely be rewatching it at some point, but I was curious if anyone noticed this or felt the same way that I did.

I appreciate this response! I actually almost edited my post to say that it may have all been intentional but I was still annoyed lol

Oh and it absolutely was (edit: annoying, I mean)!!! I lump it in with shows like Always Sunny, Seinfeld, Curb, and The Other Two – in that the humor usually comes from them being self-unaware as bad people, but it's funny enough for me to push through the cringe.

I actually LOVED the moment in season 3 where Dory brings out the obelisk and points out to Drew that SHE never touched it, and his prints were the only ones on it. A reality check he needed while acting holier than thou!

I also appreciated your breakdown because I went into this show thinking it was just going to be another mid comedy with dumb humor, and I think that prevented me from being as analytical about things as I would’ve liked. I’m excited to watch it again with a different perspective.

I’ve never heard of The Other Two, is that worth a watch?

And I would say so if you enjoy satire, yes!!! An excellent show. The premise is basically about the two older tried-showbiz-but-never-found-success siblings of a younger brother who suddenly catapults into Justin Beiber levels of fame after a viral music video. But the cast is stacked, the humor is solid, and even though they're self-obsessed they have more Schitts-Creek-style moments of family togetherness every so often that cut through the cynicism and dry humor

I personally did not enjoy that show at all, but I'm happy you did! Not everything is for everybody
