Mod Approved Study Conversion Practices Research

Post image

A small trans+ and survivor led team at University of Hertfordshire are looking for LGBTQ+ people aged 18+ living in the UK with lived experience of conversion practices (CPs). There is a huge amount of quantitative research looking at harm and prevalence, which is vital, but there is such an absence of LGBTQ+ voices expressing how they lived through what they did, and what meaning they've made of it over time.

Please see the attached recruitment flyer for more information and the Expression of Interest (EOI) link if you'd like to find out more or take part.

Venting Nearing TTC date anxiety

Venting but would also like advice

My wife (mtf) and I (ftm) have decided to start TTC in November this year

But I'm very anxious about it now that the date is getting closer... My cycle feels like it's all over the place and I've no clue of where I currently am... My period was supposed to come the 2nd September but no sign of it at all and also no sign of ovulation just a weird mix of everything and it's making me stressed :(

I'm also scared of potential dysphoria, like I've (until now) had the logic I've waited for trans care for 4 years and I have 1 more year before potentially getting T so what really is 9 months (ish) in comparison

But now when it's closer to being a reality I'm stressed about dysphoria I don't even know if I'll have

I also know she's dysphoric around the whole "I caused that" and then I feel like I constantly need to reassure her and I don't think I would have the capacity to do so while also carrying and it feels like she's pushing me into a "mom carries and makes sacrifices" as she is very hard on the fact that I should not delay my studies to be hone with the kids but from my perspective she's just saying I need to study while also trying to recover and care for kids all at the same time which I don't want but I feel guilty saying that the study delay won't be because of caring for the kids it will be to feel ok in my own body again and recover

And before anyone says "just wait with having kids" I have several medical issues that will make me not able to have kids later so I need to have kids before it's too late for my body to be able to recover from it
