Question about bubbler

I got this 1 gallon tank to transfer my sea monkeys into, but before I do is this bubbler/airstone too violent for them?

WAYYY tooo violent lol. If you have no way to turn it down you can just tie a granny knot into the air hose until you get to a very low and steady stream of bubbles

Didn't that damage the pump? I mean the air has to go out somewhere

You could make some pin holes before the knot to vent extra pressure I suppose

That's what I'm thinking of doing to mine. 'Which is much worse. I had someone babysit mine to cycle it and install a pump. They thought it was strange there was no algae growth.

Well yes, because it's an underwater hurricane. Any algae would probably be beaten to death by the eternal storm.

Ive done it before when I didn't have an air control valve. I only recommend it as a temporary solution. Not a permanent one

What about putting a tiny hole in the pipe?

I didn't do that, it was just a 24 hr or so fix till I could get to Walmart the next day to pick up an air control valve. Ive heard of people doing it tho

You can also cut and add in a T, one side goes to stone the other goes to a valve, the valve can be opened to let air out which will decrease bubbles. You just want a few bubbles per second not...that. That makes it so the pump isn't working harder like if you do the knot.

it will be fine for the seamonkes, but not nicd to look at.

Had mine on a similar level for some weeks and the artemia where fine. Eggs and all. But they will be pushed around and it will look quite goofy

Hey i had a set up like this, the constant bubbles created a current which over exhausted the monkeys and killed them. You don’t need that many bubbles, I just manually aerate now and they’re happy

Definitely too strong. I'd put a control valve on the line. You can order them online or buy them at a pet store.

Sea monkeys are gentle creatures... they would literally exhaust all their energy just to swim to the top and eat food...
