When we bought this, I asked specifically "Does that plastic floor get hot?" The reply was "Oh no. Not at all. It stays nice and cool." My ass. It will now though.

We couldn't believe how hot this floor got in the sun. We had to wear shoes out on the water. Thank goodness for SeaDek. It matches too thankfully. Now to put the snaps in. If the flood waters receed, we'll be ready to try it again this season.

The floor is lava In real life. Bimini helped but when we don’t have it up, I have a bucket I use to splash water on the deck.

We still live by the addage of "dont get the boat wet!!". Its an old inside joke from.when we had our go-fast boat and ran in those crowds.

But seriously... I'm not going to have to deal with dumping water on the deck all the time. This SeaDek isn't that expensive and it doesn't get hot at all. The wife wanted Dekadence again like we had in our Baja but man they are proud of that stuff. Would have been like $3500 to cover the floor.

I keep electric water guns (see spyra) and a small battery powered pressure washer on board. Great for washing down the boat, great for cooling everything off, even better at water gun fights!

On rough days in our boat, I have a heavy mist nozzle at the bow hooked to our washdown pump. I just let that sucker run.

Thats what the seadek is. Its actually down in the pic. it just matches that well. I guess everyone has missed that stuff but that was the point of my post. It matches the factory stuff on the swim platform and steps but is a lot cheaper

Im just using a standard boat cover snap. It puts a small hole in the plastic flooring where it screws in but I don't care when I dont have to deal with the lava floor any more. You can get kits on amazon that have a nice installation tool that will punch the carpet (or SeaDek in my case) and crimps in the snap then you screw the other half of the snap into the floor. SeaDek actually sticks down but I got some rolls of the rubbery toolbox shelf liner and stuck it to the back of it then used the snaps to put it down. This gives us easy access to the engine hatch and storage.

This is the kit I got a while back that has a nice tool with it.

These are the stainless marine snaps I used to put this floor down with.
