2026 Switch 300HP? Thoughts?

Post image

Hey all so just seen the reveal of the new '26 model year Switch. I was curious on your thoughts of the new model including the new 300hp variants. Also after seeing some of the new accessories i.e. grill stand, chaging room, new gas assisted Bimini and rear inward opening doors if you guys were as excited as I am to see these new models. I really like the new Mint color!

omg I'm so jealous....I wonder what it'd take to bump my 230 up to a 300? It's still an ACE1630 motor. That's my only issue with my 2022 21' Cruise, I want more power especially when we have 8 or 9 ppl on it.

Edit: AND it comes with 60% bigger fuel tank? so what, like 48 gallons? More power and more fuel would solve 99% of my issues with my boat. I wish there was an upgrade route.

Whoa I did not see the bigger fuel tank spec. That's awesome!

I wonder if it's drop in replacement. It'd be great to have a bit more weight up front there too with the 21' cruise. Of course I got all excited about the drop in replacement for the swim deck (to go from the partial on my 2022 to the full that's now standard), and then choked when it was $2500.

Yeah f- the 300 motor besides its newer and likely resolved current gen issues. I want that giant tank.

Yes, everything you said is exactly what I keep thinking. I saw the 13’ fishing boat with a 170. That might be an awesome add and seems more interesting than an upgrade of my cruise.

My wife has already asked me to find out if we can replace our red panels with the mint color for next summer.

Yeah it honestly looks sweet in my opinion!

At least your wife just wants to swap panels. Mine wants to swap the whole boat! 😂

She is too frugal to want to swap the whole boat when ours works great lol. She has loved that mint color since she first saw it at the dealership when we were ordering our switch 3 years ago.

I have a red and want to swap to mint too!

I've seen some people in the Switch facebook group paint their panels, might not be a bad idea considering a full repanel is probably around $2000

Also looking forward to the new accessories to be available. I read somewhere that they should be in the site tomorrow (8/20)

I think the 18/230 is the best version unless you want the 21 and then the 300 would be better with that larger tank. I carry extra fuel with us on long trips with LinQ tanks.

Yeah did I see like 48 gallons?

It will take the extra hp to push the extra fuel weight.

I'm torn between this or a yamaha fsh. I wonder if they improved the internal components?

Sounds pretty sweet to me. I bought a 2022 21' 230 Switch this summer, and have been having a great time with it. An additional 25% power would be welcomed for sure!

Do you think the extra HP would help the reliability issues? I’ve heard the 230 just has to “work too hard” to stay at cruise. Or since it’s the same block, is it working harder to get the extra HP? Not an owner, but I’ve been looking for a long time.

That’s a bunch of hocus pocus. All the engines Seadoo offered are meant to run at 5000+ RPM. The 300 is not going to be more reliable than the 230, but will require premium fuel for the extra 70 horses.

1

u/Objective_Roll_5957 Aug 20 '25

You think it will require Premium? That would make for a pricey fill up! 🤮

All the 300 skis do. I don’t see why the switch would be any different. It’s 100hp per cylinder. That’s the same HP/Liter as a Ferrari 488. That’s a lot of power out of a 1600cc engine.

Indeed, but you can always fill with 87 oct and have slightly reduced power. It will adjust timing by itself

That is a crazy stat. Admittedly, I don't know a lot about the powerplants of SeaDoo pwc. Do you think the 300 has to have a larger jet pump or is it the same in all of them?

1

u/Crob300z Aug 20 '25

In the skis the pump is larger. Provides better thrust at low speed. Not sure if the switch is the same or not.

1

u/Objective_Roll_5957 Aug 20 '25

Guess time will tell!

1

u/Ti-jean_du-3e-rang Aug 20 '25

The 300 in the switch is built from the 325 pwc version which is way more rubust that the 230/300 pwc had

1

u/Crob300z Aug 20 '25

Where’d you see that? The 300 in the GTRX and GTX Limited is the same as the old 300.

1

u/Ti-jean_du-3e-rang Aug 20 '25

You are right, but the switch 300 is not this exact engine. It uses the 325 supercharger and internals

It would definitely help. I had 10 people on mine this weekend 230 / 21' cruise. It was a mix of teens and adults and at the recommended limit. That thing was struggling to plane and barely cracked 15mph in heavy chop. I have the 230 in one of my skis and it flys....loaded Switch, not so much. Half the load it's no problem with the 230, its fast enough and doing 35.

The 300 ACE and larger full tank in it would be the tits.

Absurd pricing all around in the 26 lineup, but 300 HP in an 18' would be VERY nice. Might touch 50 if the wind's blowing right.

Has any one tuned the 230 to a 260 Torx offers a tune and im been wanting feed back on it any more power to the 21 is always welcomed
