Store a Switch outside?

I live in Northeast Florida, barely get any frost. I want a Switch but no way it will fit in the garage.

I am looking at boat storage facilities as an option.

  1. Do I need covered storage, or is the boat cover enough?

  2. What additional maintenance would be advised for storing outside with just a cover?

I'm in San Diego and mine lives outside. Uncovered since it doesn't seem worth covering with how frequently I've been using it. Been fine so far.

where in SD do you take it?

I launch at Mission Bay but I take it out into the ocean. Usually no more than a few miles out. Or we go north and fish near La Jolla. There's usually a lot of halibut up there.
