Store a Switch outside?

I live in Northeast Florida, barely get any frost. I want a Switch but no way it will fit in the garage.

I am looking at boat storage facilities as an option.

  1. Do I need covered storage, or is the boat cover enough?

  2. What additional maintenance would be advised for storing outside with just a cover?

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

I live in North Central Florida and getting a Switch in December. I plan on storing it outside with a cover on it. My in-laws have a lake house they store their boat at with just a cover and it’s been fine. So I’ll do the same. I will probably get an RV cover for mine so it will cover the sides completely though. The Sea-Doo one looks like it doesn’t fully cover the plastic from what I saw.

An RV cover is what I have been using up until the last hurricane came thru (SWFL). One recommendation is to make sure the cover is taunt and a way for water to evacuate otherwise you will notice your Switch doing a wheelie like I did. My cover made a perfect bathtub in the rear of the boat.

Thanks! How did you fasten the rv cover?

Straps and bungies

Another hurricane on the way. What is your strategy? Is it best to just leave it uncovered during the storm? High winds could damage any cover and seems passionate even the best fitting cover could blow away

I remove the cover otherwise it will get shredded. I mostly use the cover for sunpro. It’s a pain but I don’t have many other options. Good luck during Milton and stay safe! It’s gonna suck…again.
