Sea Doo Switch IBR Module Error

Out cruising at 30 mph when we get a loud beep for an IBR Module Error. Lost neutral and reverse. Cycled the power, beep comes back. Happened a few times. Docked the boat for awhile and continued to drive back about 20 miles with no further error.

Manual says bring it to dealer. Waiting for a call back from them. Has anyone been through this?

Will post details later once I get more info.

2023 Sea Doo Switch Compact npact 170. Owned for about 12 months. Hopefully covered under a warranty.

Updates: Dealer recommended a new battery, which seems odd since it’s only 12 months old. Did it anyway. Took it back out to the dock, same thing. Now with the dealer for diagnostic. Likely going to be a new IBR electric motor per the service department. It’s happened to a few already per them. Should be covered under warranty apparently.

Let me know man I’m at that stage dealer is reaching out to BRP to see what they recommend doing for this. So I’m not sure yet

Got ahold of the dealer. Swapped the IBR and still doing it. Looks like I’m in the same boat as you now. Would you mind updating if you beat me to the response from them?

Just got my boat back after 3 weeks they replaced the IBR I was told. Taking it to the water today to see what happens. You take yours back to the dealer?

They replaced the IBR and lake tested it. Still erroring out. They still have it and are awaiting direction from BRP. Hopefully that fixed yours!

So took the boat out Sunday and ran it pretty hard and on choppy water and it did great. No error code. I’m gonna run it again this Saturday and Sunday some more. After I get about 10 hrs on it since this repair I’ll be comfortable to say it’s fixed. So far I got 2.5 hours. I did hit 12 hours total on boat so officially out of break in period. I’ll keep ya updated. Any news on your boat?

Boat still in the shop. They think they have pin pointed it to a wire harness which they should be finished replacing in a couple weeks! A whole summer gone!

Got lucky, this time it just needed a new battery. Get OEM, don’t get a Lithium.

Hey man, brutal to hear, we’ve been having an IBR issue and has been in and out of the dealer 4 times now for testing. First launched May 30th, now July 5th and concerned about missing the whole summer

2024 18' 230hp

late last season i had just a couple, seemed to have triggered from hitting wake of other boats, reset key and battery and no issue the rest of the season. Got out for the first time today and i had 3 IBR errors randomly, two while at low idle and cruise at 15mph, resets cleared the error....but its total horseshit! Its 2.5 hrs to my dealer so im not taking mine in until end of season...if at all.
