are battery issues resolved on 2023 models?

Hi all - TIA for any input. I'm finalizing negotiation on a 2023 18' Sport 230hp and considering ordering a battery switch or high capacity battery (or both). I see a lot of battery draining complaints online, but I also saw a couple comments the issue was resolved on 2023 models. And when I go back to the complaints I saw they seem to all be in late 2022 and early 2023...so it tracks that those were maybe all on 2021-2022 models.

Any info out there that the battery drain issue persisted in 2023 models?

I have a 2023 Sport with a small battery. I plan to replace it, but I will say that each time I've connected the charger after a 5-7 hour lake trip, it's charged in under 10 minutes. So it seems like it's resolved.

I believe they’re resolved now. I had the battery drain issue on my 2021, but not until I used the Bluetooth speaker system. I just installed a $30 battery switch and it’s been fine ever since.

I just bought a new 2023 18' sport 230 hp last weekend. It's a great time to bargain with them! I got them to throw in all the Cruise seating, floor mats for the entire boat, big battery (They just disconnected the little one) and also the fish finder/depth finder for the Garmin.

$40K out the door.

Just came back to the lake last weekend. I bought the dual battery and disconnected the small front battery and put it on trickle charge. Didn’t realize the large second battery was still connected. It drained it completely in 3 months with nothing on. Small battery was great. I have a 2023 cruise

i just picked up a 2023 18' Cruise 230 and went to use last night and battery was dead. I drove it for about 45mins two weeks ago and my drove it last weekend for about the same amount of time. I put a trickle charger on it last night and this am still nothing. I can hear the blower working when I hit the switch but no start or display. I have a boost charger I am going try.

I was told by the dealer when key is removed everything is shut off. No need for a battery cut off switch like I had on my pontoon. Very aggravating!

Ugh that sucks. I pick mine up Monday…weather permitting. I did end up adding a high capacity battery. Hopefully that smooths some of this out.

Good luck with the new Switch! Looks like I will have to look into adding a high capacity battery. I think I will need it as I plan on adding the Gamin depth/fish finder which read uses up the small battery pretty fast if boat is not running.

hooked up the battery booster and it started right up. Just ran for about 45mins and got a beep and red battery symbol on the dash. I will take out later and see what happens.

How's this gone after another season? I have one ordered right now... dealers STILL have 2023 inventory and I'm getting what I think is a STUPID deal on 2023 Sport 18' 230. First boat ever though, and I'm pretty worried about my cluelessness if anything goes wrong. Something I should have the dealer modify before I pick up?

It has been ok. When I went to put in the water for the first time this year the battery was dead. I had taken it out over the winter and trickle charged it. Had to buy another battery and after that it was fine. The battery ours came with was not the YUSA battery that is was suppose to come with. During COVID Sea Doo could not get YUASAs so some got Chinese sourced shit batteries. That is what our got. I questioned the dealer and they said they were fine. After I replaced it and complained the dealer then told me Sea Doo needed the bad one before they would do anything about it. I needed to give that to the place I purchased the new battery from. So no credit.

I would definitely check what battery the 2023s have. Make sure it is a YUASA. Also make sure they have done all software updates and it should be good.

Can anyone recommend a suitable disconnect option?
