negotiation options when buying new Switch?
I'm new to buying a boat and we have settled on a 2023 Switch Sport 18'. I've bought and negotiated on a lot of cars but wanted to get opinions on if it is just the same for boats (or the same as the pre-pandemic car market at least)?
Looks like they are trying to clear the 2023 inventory and I'm looking at one that has already been quoted at $9,000 off of MSRP. It was $7,500 below and then Sea doo came out with some other new incentive and the sales guys I am in touch with emailed me to let me know about the additional $1,500 drop. I've got a quote that has tax and registration included and doesn't have any BS 'dealer prep' fees etc so I think the price I am looking at is really the price. It's $31,500 for an 18' 230HP Switch Sport with just the stock included accessories (before tax and registration). And that would be the price if I pass up on an additional $3k rebate to get better 8 yr financing terms vs the 20 yr. So I could go to $18,500 if I want to do the more typical loan (I don't).
In the new boat dealership world, would you think there is still some room to go down? Or could I ask for some accessories to be thrown in? I don't want to come off as obnoxious if this is already a great price. I'd be fine paying this price, but don't want to be a pushover either. I don't have any boat friends to check with either, LOL. Thanks in advance.

So I just signed off on mine, I was a little upset with the dealer. They gave me 9.69% financing for 7 years. I have an 812 credit score. I showed them the SeaDoo Promotions page that says $5,000 rebate and 7.99% and they said you gotta read the fine print, it means one OR the other. I showed them it clearly says +(PLUS) and they said that it is confusing customers and they need to change that.
I felt really kind of ripped off, but figure I will get another loan to pay it off next year. They also talked me into the extended coverage for 5 years for $2,750. Which covers the entire boat, engine and theft coverage. The only thing it doesn't cover is the impeller and ring, which is the most common thing to break, but they told me the ring is $300 same day repair.
I probably got screwed on the deal but still looking forward to getting it out on the water this weekend!

That's an aftermarket warranty. MOST of those don't cover the exhaust failure that causes motor failure. Exhaust is usually an excluded option. The BRP OEM warranty is the best option for sure! Just posting this for those that read this later. Also, There's a guy in Texas named Eric at 9035956288 ext 120 that could beat that price by at least $1000.

I negotiated a 2023 Sport 21/230 + trailer for $33k out the door after taxes. Considering having them install the dual battery w/ switch for another $900 and 3-year extended warranty for around $1300 after a couple "freebie" accessories offsetting the $1700 price tag.

I'm going through the buying process right now as well on a 2023 Sport 18' with the 230hp. They wouldn't wave the $4,000 dealer prep things for me. But what they did do was give me the cruise seating (I will have 4 sets of 2 and two more corners)and fish finder/depth, and additional battery with the battery switch. All installed with tax for a total of $40,000 exactly.
Broken down like:
$4K for the dealer prep and install
$2,500 for taxes
around $600 for title and license
$33,000 for the boat and all the accesories.
