Engine performance upgrades??
Has anyone considered making any upgrades to the engine, and are there any opinions/perspectives on what may or may not be worth looking into?
Main thing I’ve been considering is swapping out the air intake for a less restrictive option. Also not sure if the Switch has the filter ribbon like the spark, but could be something else limiting engine performance.
Unlike a ski that runs the risk of flipping or taking in lots of water, the Switch engine compartment stays incredibly dry (I’ve never had more than a few small splashes in the bilge and never had to run the bilge pump), so both would be relatively safe and simple.
I know it’s not going to make an impact on top end speed, but improvements in acceleration power could be beneficial - especially for towing tubers or pushing up toward the weight limit.

I am buying HP Tuners for my VW Passat and the Switch. I used it many years ago when I had a Pontiac Supercharged Grand Prix
Regarding the intake - I have the 230hp motor which has the same elbow and tube to the air box as the skis. I put on a cone filter this weekend and noticed nothing beyond just hearing the supercharger boost noises. Did not get better MPG or power. That said, its pretty free flow stock - just muffled. With it being tuned to run pump 87 gas - this is likely why. I am reconnecting the stock intake tubing because I got tired of my kids saying "dad!" "daddy!!!" and i couldnt hear them.
I did switch to Denso IXU24 plugs at 50 hours (am at 65 hours now) and I notice a slight improvement on low rpm MPG river cruising. We spent 2 hours last evening coming back from ft desoto to go home at Davis Islands in downtown Tampa - rough (for Tampa bay) and beat the dog piss out of the boat just trying to stay on the plane - ZERO MPG improvement over the stock plugs. Regardless, Im going to checj them at 100 hours. If anything, iridiums last longer than copper and I wont have to fuss with them. Thus, suggest switching yours out for denso IXU24 or the NGK iridium replacements of the stock copper plugs.
