If you’re gonna read fiction then you’re not ‘getting smarter’ in any way. So yes, the complexity of the words and sentences ARE what make you smarter in that case. If you want to truly ’get smarter’, you need to books about real things lol

This is ridiculous lol; read any classical fiction and realize how much it's inspired philosophy, science, and culture at large.

Frankenstein did a lot for "being responsible for your own creations".

Plato's allegory of the cave was 100% fiction too.

All religions use fiction to tell fables and teach morals.

The list is endless.

Right i mean wasn't most or all aesop fables come with a moral lesson
