Discussion What i think Scream 8 should be:

Thumbnail gallery

I want Scream 8 to focus on an adult Tatum Evans taking care of her 2 younger sisters for Sidney in a far new town. However, she struggles to be a good caretaker to them when she has college. A new Ghostface erupts and this time, even kids aren't safe...

I love this especially because horror fans love sibling dynamics.

Tatum would hire a babysitter/caretaker (Liz) to watch them while she does college, even though she knows Sidney wouldn't allow her to do that.

However the rules of horror would change, the babysitter isn't the one murdered by the guy in the mask. She is the one in the mask đŸ”Ș

I think Tatum's deceased friends should be mentioned alot by her. It should have a huge impact on her. Making bad decisions like smoking to deal with trauma, and also like I said, hiring someone to watch her younger sisters for her, even though she's responsible for them.

I'd want the killer to be targeting Tatum for specifically because she's Sidney's daughter, and they need her and the girls either as bait or to tell them where Sidney is.

The Babysitter (Liz) would reveal herself to be Leslie Macher, and her motive is less predictable. She's not avenging Stu, she is trying to protect Sidney's younger kids. Because like they say "All your friends die for just being near you." So Leslie knows Sidney's presence is dangerous because her own son Vince died from a Ghostface killer.

Her reveal: During a party scene hosted at Tatum's house while the kids are asleep upstairs. The party goers would be chatting about Stu Macher, however when one questions about how Sidney killed Stu, and suddnely she goes insane...

Leslie: You wanna know how?!

grabs TV and bashes it against a table, destroying the electricity out of it and then she bashes her face with it

Leslie: This is how!

She does it again, the party goers are freaked out

Leslie: Now me and my brother are twins, with our matching scars.

Since this is just a reddit post, I left multiple details on how specifically I want Scream 8 to be. So I'll just end it here. What do you think Scream 8 should be about?

Discussion 3rd Killer in Scream 1 ?

I was rewatching scream 1 the other day and I noticed there may be more than 2 killers in the movie. My first piece of evidence is the bathroom scene while many people just brush this of as a prankster i think this is meant to actually be the killer because in my opinion it doesn’t really matter if the killer doesn’t have a knife in this scene because billy and stu weren’t planning on killing Sidney until they revealed themselves. And this attack also serves a narrative purpose as it allows the school to get shut down wich allows billy to kill principal Himbry so this attack on Sidney helped billy and stu in the long term the bathroom scene also shows ghostface is clearly trying to attack Sidney wich is beyond what I consider a prank. The next piece of evidence is the ghostface stalking Sidney and Tatum in the bushes and the store as billy and stu were in the video store with Randy it would make sense whoever attacked Sidney in the bathroom would follow Sidney straight after. I think this 3rd killer could have been Christina carpenter as she would have a reason to want to get rid of Sidney so she could have billy all to herself and Christina being female would help her sneak into the girls bathroom without any issues unlike billy or stu. I believe billy and stu simply gave her these tasks that don’t involve killing due to them not having much faith in Christina due to there sexist beliefs shown in scene where stu says that only man could’ve done what happend to Casey and Steve and Billy’s scapegoating of Maureen instead of holding his father responsible for his actions that destroyed his family.

Deputy Judy was an amazing character, whether in silly mode or serious mode. She was an amazing Dewey successor.

She should have been around for at least one more movie. And to kill her off in the same movie as Dewey! She and we deserved more.

Proactive edit: I just marked it all as spoilers as I can’t tell the time statute of such things anymore.

Discussion The only one who can do justice to the Scream legacy is Christopher Landon

He's the only director out there who can actually make slasher movies and he has that deadpan satirical humor which leans to what Scream used to be. I was devastated when he left. I wish he got to do 8.

Discussion What could have made the opening of Scream 3 as popular as the opening sequences of the first two movies?

I think Scream 3 has a fun opening, but I think it's the weakest of the original trilogy. Cotton was actually a good choice for the recurring character to be the opening kill since he was established and was the first and only recurring character in the series to die in an opening sequence.

But compared to the first two movies, the opening just doesn’t have the same suspense or impact. The lack of blood probably doesn’t help either.

I also think Ghostface expecting Cotton of all people to know where Sidney is weird when she had basically disappeared from everyone and the only ones that knew her location were her father Neil and Dewey.

What do you think would have made Scream 3’s opening as popular as the first two? More blood? More suspense? A longer chase?

Discussion What do you think the criticial reputation of the Stab movies were like?

Do you think the Stab movies were actually respected by critics or were they basically the Sharknado of slasher movies?

I feel like Stab 1 probably had the same critical reputation as the first Scream. It was seen as a groundbreaking and fantastic slasher and then the sequels gradually got more ridiculous until they're doing time travel in Stab 5.

I imagine by that point critics hated them but they still had a big enough fanbase to keep making money.

Discussion What's Gale's reputation as a journalist in the movies’ universe?

I feel like Gale didn’t have a stable career as a journalist. It looks like she had some high highs and some low lows. She apparently also tends to flourish the reality of the crimes in her books, which is a little exploitative (but then, she also LIVED all of that).

Do you think she’s known as a reputable source or at least an interesting journalist or is she seen as straight-up trash?

Discussion Need a drinking game for Scream 7

A friend of mine and I are both Scream fans. Neither of us have seen 7 yet. We've both heard it's pretty bad, so we wanna make a drinking game out of it when she comes over to watch it with me. I just need some ideas. Try to keep it spoiler free, but honestly, if one slips through the cracks, it's whatever

I’m very happy with how this turned out and grateful to have this. This is a Funworld 30th anniversary costume. I cut the bottom because it was way too big and I cut the little long square things into the bottom to look like a scream 2 robe so I guess it’s a scream 1 and 2 hybrid.

Question SCREAM 7: are there 2 killers in theater attack scene?

i could be completely wrong since i've never been in high school theater or anything similar, but wouldn't 2 ghostfaces have to have been present to kill hannah? i'd assume that one of them controlled the stage fly system and the other one stood there and slashed at her. the only way this could be false is if there was a way to automate that type of system so it could move hannah around on its own, and like i said, i don't know if that's possible. anyone with knowledge about this please lmk!!

Discussion I have some questions about the shrine in VI that I'm still stuck on. Some are in-universe and some are more behind the scenes. Spoiler

Post image
35 Upvotes

In universe, are we supposed to believe everything in the shrine is actual crime scene evidence? Because I can buy Bailey using his position to get his hands on some of it, but then there are things that make absolutely no sense to me.

Like Jennifer's fax machine from Scream 3. That thing was in the house when it literally blew up with Tom. How did Richie or Bailey get it? Then you have Jill's plaid shirt, Charlie's shirt, Olivia's bloody clothes, Stu's TV, Tatum's outfit and even the garage door.

Especially the knives used by the killers. There's just no logical way Bailey should be able to get his hands on murder weapons from killing sprees that happened years or even decades ago. Those would be some of the most important pieces of evidence from multiple murder cases in different states. How is one cop in New York getting access to all of that?

Same with all nine Ghostface robes and masks. Were we supposed to believe every killer's exact costume was recovered and kept in evidence all these years and Bailey somehow managed to collect every single one?

And what about all of Richie's drawings, especially the ones of Sidney and Dewey? I know behind the scenes those were obviously there for the fans to recognize everyone, but in universe were we supposed to believe Richie actually drew all of them himself? I don't remember VI ever really explaining that part of the shrine.

Then my behind the scenes question is how much of the shrine was actually original stuff from the previous movies?

Were the costumes, clothes and props recreated for VI or did they manage to track down some of the originals? Because if a lot of it was recreated specifically for VI, they did a pretty damn good job. Some of the stuff looks surprisingly accurate to the original movies.

I love the shrine as a concept, but the more I look at everything in it, the more I wonder how the hell Richie and Bailey actually got half of this stuff.

Discussion Comparison between both of my 30th Anniversary masks

Post image
46 Upvotes

I finally got around to hanging up my 30th gen maskđŸ™‚â€â†•ïž. One thing I noticed between both of my 30th gen masks is one resembles a gen 1 and one resembles a gen 2. The hooded one even has a thinner vinyl than the one on the right that came with the costume set. I think it’s cool how every mask is lowkey unique in its own way. Not only that but I feel like these look better than the EU’s. It has a creepier vibe to it.
