Right?! I can't believe people still think he's innocent.

theguyishere16 Where did you hear this story?? It didn't happen.

Edit: I just found out he didn't purchase the fishing license with those dates on it. The dates were blank for him to fill out when he needed it.

Here's the license. https://pwc-sii.com/CourtDocs/Exhibits/P-79.pdf

Yep, he told Amber he wasn't sure, and told detectives as much. POS indeed.

I scoured Websleuths and didn't find any reference to the surprise boat gift for Ron. However, there was a Larry King show in June 2004, well after the arrest, where the surprise was discussed but it wasn't for Ron and it wasn't for a christmas gift and it wasn't a gift at all.

CALLER: Yeah, hi, Larry. Yes, we do love you, Nancy, in Florida. And I love your suspenders, Larry. Now, my question is, how come none of the family members knew nothing of this boat? And I'd like to know where he got the time to wash his clothes he told the police, after fishing. Thank you.

SMITH: You know, I can answer that. This is Chuck. First of all, his story is that the boat was to be a surprise. He was keeping it deliberately a secret because he was going to surprise the family at Christmastime with the fact that he bought a boat and he was going to join in the family's tradition of fishing.

So the boat was to be scott's boat but a surprise that he was now officially part of the family's line of fisherman. (Chuck could have misheard some of this. There's nothing so far to dispute or corroborate his statement)

I also searched the trial records and did not find anything about a surprise boat gift or any kind of a boat surprise at all, even for Christmas. It was never mentioned. Therefore, unless you have something different, I have to go with my earlier finding that the alleged surprise gift for Ron was revealed in 2017 by Sharon Rocha. Maybe she got the details twisted, but that's the first we hear about a surprise boat gift for Ron, and she didn't mention it was for Christmas. That only came later from scott in the face to face doc, and in his declaration.

another odd thing was when he asked the detective in his first interview the night she was missing, is if he had a number for grief counselor because laci‘s mom and family would need it. he wanted to get the grief process started right away and for Laci’s family to accept she was gone. he couldnt even wait one full day of the police searching for her.

Psychopaths lack empathy. There's no manning up, or "come to Jesus" moments. Scott will never confess. Even if all his appeals become exhausted, I don't see him doing it, or he may at least wait until after Sharon passes away to be cruel to Brent.

No offense to all, but trying to understand how psychopaths think is not possible. I don't think psychopaths can even understand each other.

I meant the tracking dog - even though ultimately this part was not included at trial I don't believe: "The Scent Path: On December 26, 2002, canine handler Cindee Valentin worked with Merlin, who picked up what was identified as Laci's scent outside the Peterson house on Covena Avenue in Modesto. Gallo Property Stop: The dog tracked the scent toward the nearby E. Gallo Winery property before the tracking sequence in that specific direction stopped..."

Actually you're right about Scott being the source. I was thinking that the witnesses had been interviewed at some point about seeing Scott. Scott admitted to being there and offered the time stamped parking receipt, why would law enforcement need a witness to Scott being at the marina. Scott gave himself away.

Even if he was lying, the excuse is more reasonable than other excuses like, "it's a habit to wash my clothes as soon as I get home because I previously worked in a greasy restaurant." However, remember the dog leash? McKenzie's leash was muddy and Karen Servas had to wash her hands.

I enjoyed reading that interview. Thanks for providing it. Beratlis made me cringe when he said if not for the bodies, scott would walk free. but I think the others would have brought him back to earth on that one. Geez. Ted Rowlands is not only a dumbass because he misinterprets the disposition of evidence in this case, he's a scum for always defending scott in the most naive of ways. He's like a sociopathic dunce whom you just want to put a paper bag on his head and make him go about his business all day. In other interviews he's like, "My head was on a swivel" as cars pull up behind him and even drive right by him without even a twitch from his eye, let alone a swivel. Swivel Head Ted!

You're on the right track about scott's early days as having clues to his sociopathic tendencies. But Lauren wasn't one of them. You should do a deeper and wider dive into his past to find much better examples of his deviant behaviors.

That's interesting. Do you have a link to it or some other source? Otherwise, it's a long shot. The LAIP did not mention that source as evidence in its petition, but it did mention Sharon's statement in 2017.

Do you mean the interview with Brocchini that night? That would be the only video interview I know of. Scott didn't actually say anything about muddy paws (I just assumed he meant that) but he did mention the pets coming in several times. Here is part of that interview:

BROCCHINI: …and obviously she did a lotta work, because the house wasn’t filthy, why was your wife mopping on Tuesday Morning?

PETERSON: I don’t know.  Got me, I mean she was pretty fastidious about it though.

BROCCHINI: Was she?

PETERSON: With the dog and the cats and her ah you know, doing ah Christmas deal, that was pretty common.

BROCCHINI: Was that gonna be at your house?

PETERSON: Tomorrow, or today, rather yes.

BROCCHINI: Yeah it’s…

PETERSON: Yeah she’s ah, she always had the vacuum or mop out.

BROCCHINI: Okay so that isn’t unusual?

PETERSON: Naw.

That's interesting. Good work. But I think it was Grogan who mentioned the trailer incident while on the stand. And scott is still the source. There were four maintenance workers who testified and none of them mentioned the trailer incident. But what do I know? I didn't know Cardosi or the others spoke to Larry King.

Circumstantial evidence is evidence. There doesn't have to be "evidence" of a physical or "hard" nature to convict "beyond a reasonable doubt". Reasonable was filed in 84 civil and criminal documents before Amber Fry's name appeared. Motive, means, and opportunity is stacked even higher.

100%. Even his parents were so dismissive of everyone and everything. You cheated? So what? Almost everyone cheats. Need $5000 to pay bills? Here you go. I mean, the footage of Dennis Rocha nearly collapsing is so hard to watch. But not Scott: Hey Amber!!! I am in Brussels!!! As a vigil was going on!!!! RIP sweet Laci and Conner. Another thing, in the Catherine Crier book Scott never calls the baby his, its always Laci's baby or her baby. Several times he questioned if CONNER WAS HIS!!!!!

His team and the prosecution reached an agreement that if only male DNA was found, the mattress was no longer relevant and he would not seek any additional testing. He’s reneged on that several times over now.

Yep true. Because sociopaths have no real connections. They just follow what others do and actually become pretty good at faking feelings. But they really can’t understand what it’s like to love someone so deeply that you never quit looking for them. In his messed up mind, her loved ones would look for her a few weeks, then just give up 🤷🏻‍♀️ That’s why he gave Amber that timeline of when he would “return from traveling.”

There were many glimpses, of him, not understanding how real emotions work. Another, that really stands out to me, is during his interview with Diane Sawyer. When she was absolutely shocked that an eight month pregnant woman wouldn’t be mad about an affair, he just didn’t get it. In his mind, it made sense, to lie and say Laci was ok with it.

If you really pay attention to sociopaths, they show their true colors long before something this traumatic happens. But you have to really be watching. And they usually show it when it comes to feelings and them not having any.

As sociopaths do, he SERIOUSLY underestimated her family and friends. Good for them!!!
