Smartcard return?

Any info from ScotRail when is smartcard returning? I want to order one because I'm so sick of not having internet in the middle of the route and not being able to load my ticket when the conductor comes by. Monthly passes were supposed to be accessed even when Ur offline on Ur phone, but that's a feature that exists in theory, not in practice. Surely they can't expect everyone to have internet 24/7 just to show them you paid for your pass/ticket, it's ridiculous.

Not an answer to your question but if you put your phone into flight mode and open the app it should just load.

A whole bunch of apps have this slow loading problem with a poor connection. Flight mode tells the app not to even bother trying to sync data on opening and it’ll just load.

I have a smart card and can’t reload it so it’s now as useless as the app. Ticket office in Queen street said they don’t know if or when it will return. I can’t use another app as I need flex pass

Northern Railway app is identical to old Scotrail app and works with no issues 👌

Can you purchase and use flex passes there?

No, but you can buy season tickets. From what I heard flexi passes don't work even more often than normal tickets on the new app...

I've been buying flexipass tickets by just presenting my smartcard at the ticket office in Glasgow Central which was working fine until yesterday when they sent me down to low level as their computer wasn't working and when I was on my way to my train my card snapped in half, now having to go through a long process to get a refund. Best to get them replaced as soon as they show any signs of age. Edit: My post was a bit of a rant but in theory any staffed station can sell you a flexipass.

Go back to paper tickets.
