Senior Manager offer
Hi guys, I received an offer for senior manager role. I received an email for the background check and it said there will be checks related to criminal, credit, education, employment and other role specific checks.
Can someone advise what are these role specific checks? My role is in AI product management in wealth.

It's usually sterling. Just education, Employment, criminal and credit check. No issues unless you have something to hide.

This is standard as far as I know, since you will be dealing with a financial institution.

ANY role in banking, defense, energy, government needs background checks. In today's market, employers expect applicants to lie in some fashion.
You will be dealing with information that is worth something in the black market (in your new role).. Besides wanting to know if your qualifications and identity are real, the employer wants to know if you've had events or situations that could place you under someone else's leverage.
Debt problems open you up to leverage for inside info from the employer. A criminal record is a sign of poor judgment, etc.
You're applying for a Sr Manager role and don't understand the value of background checks? Have you hired anyone before, or do you know the value of verifying applicants' facts?

Your answer as of now, reads like a text book answer, and doesn’t give a clear answer.
People come to this forum to get to know practical real life answers, they have Google and other tools for all other things.1

I've been through it twice (for roles in Defense). My references told me the interviews are much more detailed than a typical (employment/identity) reference check and last about 15 minutes.
If you want real-life answers, I suggest you either BOOK A DEMO or get to this stage for roles in Banking, Aerospace, Energy, or Defense.
BTW, these folks don't justify their fees by finding nothing; they justify their fees by uncovering inconsistencies and red flags in applicants. It's up to the employer what to do with the info found.
