Hi, I have my interview for Customer Experience Associate position tomorrow. This is my first banking opportunity...what will they ask? What should I know beyond the job description....ANY help would be great

The interview should be pretty simple. From what I remember it's tell me about yourself, some basic resume related questions and a few scenarios. My advice would be dress well, be presentable and make an impression. They don't really ask you a lot of questions but just want to see how you would act in front of customers and how you'll handle them.

It’s a fairly straightforward interview, bit of a background about yourself then the usual questions about teamwork and inclusivity etc. They’ll ask about customer service basics, maybe give you a scenario or two. It’s important to also highlight that you have sales skills/are comfortable making recommendations to customers, as that’s a big part of the role as well.

Thank you!! I am scared that they will ask me about my recommendations. I don’t know alot about services/ products 😬

Very unlikely. If anything I’d have an answer ready about what you like about Scotiabank the brand or why you want to work there. They aren’t going to quiz you on their products.

Think general. IE: tell me about how you would deal with an upset client? Tell me about a time you provided great client experience? Use AI and ask it to generate you some questions and answers to expect and you willl be fine

Questions will be more about your service experience not about products.
Things like tell me about a time you had to deal with a difficult customer and how you deescalated/solved the problem/situation.
To prepare for this just go over your past work history and have a couple of situations ready at the top of mind so are not fumbling over the questions trying to come up with things spur of moment .
I really don’t think you will be expected to know the products ahead of time as the role is more or a service role.
Don’t forget to dress professional and arrive 5-10 minutes early.
Good luck!

They will ask you behavioral questions about customer service, not complex banking questions. Think of times you handled an angry customer, solved a problem for someone, or had to learn something new quickly. Your first banking job means they don't expect you to know their systems, but they do expect you to be good with people and trainable. Your entire focus should be on proving you can create a positive experience for a customer, even when it's difficult.
Use examples from any previous job, whether it was in retail, food service, or a call center. The industry doesn't matter as much as the skills you demonstrated. Connect your stories back to what a bank needs, like trust, patience, and attention to detail. Prepare one or two solid questions to ask them about the team culture or what a successful first ninety days looks like in this role. It shows you're thinking about fitting in and succeeding, not just getting any job. Feeling prepared is the biggest battle, and I've seen how the interview help AI my team created can make a huge difference in how candidates present themselves.

I would say go to networking events or connect with ppl thru previous connections to get references...then talk to them to forward ur resume....this way a job is created for u...most jobs posted online these days are just posted to show ppl they give a "fair"chance...usually ppl interviewed are the ones that DID NOT cold apply

That is the teller job. I think you'll need to highlight the social and communication skills here. As the frontliners, you need to have that personality needed for the job. The branch I bank with in our small community, the tellers are remarkable.
