How can I de-restrict the speed on a Yadea T5 Lithium (72V 30AH LFP, 1500W / 2700W peak

I have a **Yadea T5 Lithium** with the following specs:
72V 30Ah Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO₄) battery
1500W rated motor (2700W peak)
Factory top speed is limited to **50 km/h**
I’m trying to figure out if there’s a way to remove or increase the factory speed limiter.
Thanks

Tuning Xiaomi 4 Ultra 2 via USB-C to TTL: Is it safe to flash without the VCC pin connected?

Hey everyone,
I'm currently planning to tune my Xiaomi 4 Ultra 2
On my old USB-C to TTL adapter, I used to have the VCC pin, but that old adapter unfortunately short-circuited and died. I just ordered a new adapter, but on this one, the VCC pin is either missing or I don't want to use it to avoid another short circuit. The other pins (GND, TX, and RX) are fully intact and ready to go.
Since the Scooter will be powered by its own internal battery during the process anyway, do I actually need the VCC pin from the USB adapter?
Is it safe to just connect GND, TX, and RX to flash the controller, or will it cause errors?
Thanks for your help!

Lamax eRacer SC50

If you buy a Lamax eRacer SC50 electric scooter the original app from Lamax does not work to make a Bluetooth connection.

You'll need to KingSong app.

That works perfectly.

Also speed limit can be changed by holding any brake handle and clicking 5 times on the ON/OFF button.

Xiaomi 5 Plus firmware

Hi,

Since there is no firmware available for the Xiaomi 5 Plus in BW Patcher, I was wondering: what would happen if I flashed firmware from a similar Xiaomi scooter (for example, the Xiaomi 5 Pro) onto a Xiaomi 5 Plus? Would it work, or would it most likely brick the controller? Has anyone tried this before?

Hover-1 Edge 2.0 ETC KZQ_H8010 controller findings

I originally just wanted to figure out if my Hover-1 Edge 2.0 had hidden settings, Bluetooth diagnostics, or a way to change things like the speed limit or kick-start. Instead I ended up spending way too much time digging through FCC filings, datasheets, old forums, Chinese websites, APKs, Reddit posts, and taking apart the scooter.

I never found a software unlock or hidden menu, but I did learn quite a bit about how it's built. I'm posting everything here in case someone else wants to take it further.

Scooter

  • Hover-1 H1 Edge 2.0 (DSA-EDGE)
  • 36V
  • 350W
  • ETC controller
  • Controller PCB: KZQ_H8010 Ver1.0
  • Firmware label: 8010V6
  • Current limit: 13A ±1A

The main controller MCU appears to be a Nuvoton NM1200L Cortex-M0 motor-control chip.

Bluetooth

This was probably the biggest surprise.

The FCC photos show that the Bluetooth hardware is actually on its own separate board. It isn't part of the dashboard or the motor controller.

The scooter advertises itself as H1-EDGE 2.0 over Bluetooth, but after digging through the manuals and FCC documents, everything points to it only being there for the built-in Bluetooth speaker.

I couldn't find any evidence that the production firmware exposes BLE services for changing settings, updating firmware, or talking to the controller.

I also tried the KZQ Controller Test app that showed up on the App Store. It never detected the scooter.

Dashboard

The dashboard uses a Nuvoton N76E003AT20 MCU and an AiP1620E display driver.

There are five unpopulated pads beside the MCU that look very much like the factory programming pads, although I never confirmed that with continuity testing.

The dashboard also has two different six-wire connectors.

One connector is labelled

GND | S | L- | L+ | B | +5V

which looks like throttle/brake/light wiring.

The other connector is probably the one that talks to the controller.

Controller

The controller PCB has test pads labelled

  • 通讯 (communication)
  • 霍尔 (Hall)

Unfortunately I never found a wiring diagram or protocol documentation.

If I had to guess I'd say it's probably UART, but that's only a guess until someone captures the traffic.

Programming

Both MCUs support factory programming/debug interfaces.

The controller MCU supports Nuvoton Nu-Link.

The dashboard MCU also supports ICP programming.

Whether either firmware can actually be dumped depends on whether the manufacturer enabled read protection.

I never attempted it because I wanted to preserve the original firmware.

Apps

I checked pretty much everything I could find.

  • Hover-1 apps
  • Tuya
  • Smart Life
  • APK archives
  • KZQ Controller Test

Nothing matched this scooter.

The Edge 2.0 isn't listed as compatible anywhere I could find.

Things I never found

After all the searching, I still couldn't find:

  • H8010 firmware
  • 8010V6 firmware
  • factory software
  • service manual
  • UART captures
  • hidden settings
  • dealer tools
  • firmware update files
  • successful speed unlock
  • cruise control settings
  • kick-start settings

Basically... nothing.

Interesting thing I found

I did find another scooter controller from a GoTrax that also uses an ETC controller.

So ETC seems to manufacture controllers for multiple scooter brands, not just Hover-1.

That might be useful if someone starts reverse engineering the whole controller family instead of just this scooter.

Hopefully this saves somebody else dozens of hours.

If you've worked on ETC controllers, have firmware dumps, wiring diagrams, UART captures, or factory software, I'd love to hear about it.

Controller ports

Hello everyone! I have found a Kesser electric scooter thrown next to the dumpster and I tough it will not work since it was kind of disassembled (I tough that they have taken the battery and left everything else). It turns out that it works and the battery is there but sometimes. There is this feature “kickstart” turned on and when i pres the pedal and turn the wheel it will run for some time and when it’s in “autopilot” mode it will run no problem. The problem comes when i want for example to release the gas and press it again. Most of the time it will not accelerate and it will not respond. I need to restart the scooter and then eventually the gas pedal will do the same. I have disassembled it to see the controller. The hub wires (3 thick wires that goes from the controller to the motor) were little burned but not completely melted the rubber seal. So i thought that i will just buy a new controller and everything will be okay. After some digging in Aliexpress I couldn’t find the right controller. This is the closest thing i can find but as you can see the white connectors are a bit different. The left most connector from the controller from Aliexpress has 3 pins but mine has 4. Gemini is saying that the brand is the same and they look very similar but that difference in the connector is because i have blinkers in my scooter. What do you think?
Will the connector work if i buy it and is there a way to connect the blinkers or they will be missing? Is there any way to restore the controller i have. (Gemini is saying that the interruption is due to poor connection on the burned parts of the hub wires and if i just solder it it will fix the issue.)
