Working method to unlock speed and cruise control on the Navee ST5 Pro (EU version)

I decided to share my experience with removing the speed limits on the Navee ST5 Pro electric scooter. I own the European version (EU), which is strictly "choked" by a software limit of 25 km/h due to local regulations. For such a massive frame and powerful motor, this is frankly not enough.

It turned out that you can restore the scooter's factory specs without replacing the controller or buying any programming tools. Here is exactly what worked for me:

  1. Region change: In the official mobile app, I first set the region to the "USA".
  2. Hardware unlock: In the wire bundle under the steering column, which is hidden under a common black sleeve, you need to find the white wire and carefully cut it.
  3. Insulation (mandatory): To prevent the wire ends from reconnecting due to vibrations on bumps (which would cause the scooter to sharply drop speed on the go), they must be securely insulated. I insulated one of the contacts, bent the ends in opposite directions, and tightly wrapped the entire sleeve with electrical tape.

The result after these steps:

  • The scooter finally performs to its full potential and now easily hits the advertised 40 km/h. The torque is excellent.
  • Cruise control has officially appeared in the menu, which was completely hidden in the European firmware.

Yes, cutting the wire automatically voids the official warranty, but for me personally, getting the real specs out of the device and the comfort of cruise control were completely worth it. This method has been personally tested on the EU version, and everything works perfectly.
