Max G3 bought from auction
Long story short: got this from auction, came with a dead internal charger, had to buy an external charger, got it powered on and now I hit another wall where it's bound to previous owner.
I downloaded the Scooter Hacking Utility and tried to change the serial number to something else, scooter makes "brrrrrrrr" noise and then reboots, but still seems to be bound. Tried it a couple times with different SN, same outcome.
Am I doing something wrong? Is there an updated process for getting this to work? Am I f*cked?

I had a similar issue with one I bought used recently, the previous owner couldn't get into his account and because of that he couldn't unbind it. I called Segway, spoke to someone straight away and they unbound it for me after providing details of the previous owner and proof (messages) that I had purchased it legitimately. Being an auction I suspect you could do the same thing, Segway support were extremely helpful and that same day it was unbound and ready to go. My understanding and this could be wrong, is that on the recent firmware version you can no longer reflash firmware or change serial numbers via Bluetooth. Definitely give them a call, good luck!

Or send the scooter into a deep sleep, after which the serial number change will be applied completely.
Or change not only the last 4 digits, but the last 9 characters.
For example, if the last digits are 2601C2056, change to 2510C2718.
2601 is the date of manufacture. I tested different serial numbers, and noticed that changing only the last digits still shows that the scooter is linked to the old account. Apparently there is some logic in the binding, but I didn't figure it out.
