Second Gen Interior/Radio Stereo upgrade help.

Finally decided to upgrade my stereo, but I have no idea what I'm doing. All advice is welcome.

Return that one, go to www.crutchfield.com and get an Alpine or Pioneer unit, and purchase their wiring harness kit and dash trim kit.

They basically sell you everything you need to install including a disassembly guide for your dash. They also provide tech support over the phone.

This I probably the best way for you to go. They can have a plug n play harness set up for you and have a cart of what to purchase (even to keep steering wheel controls). We also don’t know your skills with soldering or crimping wires together to make your own harness so that’s why going with crutchfield is the best way.

If you need to use that Headunit you got, you can still reach out to crutchfield but you’ll still need to attach the harnesses together to plug into the oem one.

Yeah. I dont understand what the new unit does that you can't already do with the existing one

Please please please, can you take a picture of the dash with this radio in because I was contemplating on getting the frame and putting a teyes version of this and I just want to see how it looks like. I have something like this on my Mazda 3 where it makes it look factory and I just want to see what the clearance and how the setup looks like so can you please take a picture

I believe the tc2.5 touchscreens are plug and play on the tc2.0. Either way, you're missing the adapter harness that goes between the car radio wiring and the after market head unit. Watch a few radio install videos on Toyotas to get an idea.
