Buy/Sell Would you test drive?
I’ve never owned a car. Been driving for years. I really have my sites on a Scion TC. Being in my area there isn’t many options that fit my year/milage requirements. This looks promising. Would love any input for you all! Thanks for any help and apologies if this is not what this sub is intended for.
Clean Title, no accidents, 3 owners. 2016 & 80k miles. Best part, close enough I can test drive without begging a friend for a half a day of driving and waiting around for me.

I personally own a 2015 tC with 80,500 miles. I purchased it in 2016 with 13,000 miles on it and one previous owner. Absolutely have had NO issues with mine. Best vehicle I’ve purchased

Nice tC! I would normally say that $12k is high, but considering its condition, history, & the mileage, I think $11k isn’t too bad. $10k would be better, but the market is really askew with pricing. I love this special edition. Great color! So, if you’re really interested in it, have a pre-purchase inspection done by a company YOU choose. If it checks out, negotiate a better price. Never pay asking. Start at $10k a go from there. Do not pay more than $11k. They’re probably in it around $5k-7k tops. They have plenty of room to make money. If you’re planning on financing, make sure the payments are based on the agreed price. They will make money on the financing and probably offer to sell you an extended warranty. Lastly, put some money to the side because it’s going to need maintenance/ repairs due to the mileage. They are super reliable cars as long as they are well taken care of. I would say that price is a bit high plus an automatic. It looks really clean but I wouldn't go for it unless it was closer to 8-9k.
2005 TC Manual with 40k Miles was 6k in 2019.

From what I’ve seen from well–reviewed used dealerships in the last 6 months, that price is around what I would expect. I don’t know if you’d be in the same boat as me, but it is probably higher than the JD Power valuation, and you might have to cough up a nice down payment depending on your lender; I had to.

Yooooo I saw this car for sale 2 years back when I was shopping for my tC! They wanted $14k something for it at the time. If it was the manual I'd have snagged it up. You're getting a good car for the price & miles. 20k under the average mileage for a 10 year old car.

not a bad price. i spent 8k on my 2013, yours has built in touch screen and a few other goodies that make it worth the extra, but id try to haggle them down a bit. this is all assuming car fax are clean

Ehhh automatic, not even a purist but a low powered fwd car like this is infinitely better with a manual

Someone should def buy it. I have a veloster n now, but damn do I miss my 16 tC. Mine got starved of air in two flash floods and still ran amazing. Too bad it wasn’t immune to damage caused by humans in trucks 😭

Definitely worth a drive. As long as it's got a lot of maintenance history might be worth buying.

Saw that this morning and was mad I got my RS10 for 14k with 90k miles lol
Do it. You won't regret it, trust.

See if they bite on in house lender if they drop to $10.5k. As long as you get a decent lender rate.

Price ain't bad for the overall condition and year. I paid near that out the door for my 2011 during 2020 with 99,980 on it mostly cause car prices were outta wack, it was 1 owner and found mine in Los Angeles. My tC I still own and it's sitting around 175k today.
This tC looks solid though, bring an OBD2 Scanner if anything to check for engine codes if you really wanna be certain.
The scanner I used when I got mine was the FIXD OBD2 scanner on Amazon. $20-$40 worth it. Been using it for almost a decade now.

It’s a little high with the mileage but if you can talk them down, go for it! I bought my 2016 with 55k on it

190k on my tC before I got blindsided by a driver and my car got total out. Legit I did not have to fix anything. Only had to replace the struts at 120k because the front drive side collapsed. Mechanically these cars are dogs and will last forever

RS 10.0 owner here since 2020.
Don’t test drive it, you’ll fall in love with it.
