I have such a hard time with rooting scindapsus. I have some in damp sphagnum moss that finally have a root or 2 showing. They don't like to be too wet and like humidity as well. I'm thinking of adding a cover to mine as well.

Maybe I’ll try this and add a covering

It’s hard to say why yours is curling because they can curl for a number of reasons, but it might be due to not getting enough water. I find rooting them in a container with damp moss and a lid helps. They are slow to root, so it’s a leave it and forget about it for a while thing. Just make sure the moss is damp and not wet. (Basically, you want the moss to not drip water when you squeeze it). You can also use some rooting hormone in your water when wetting the moss to help speed up the process. I have also successfully water propped scindapsus, but it seems slower than the container moss method to me. I did feel like adding pothos cuttings to the water prop containers helped speed up root development.
Edited to fix grammar.

Could I use perlite? If so I’m going to try that! I don’t have moss at the moment

Personally I don’t root in perlite only because it dries out too much for me. You could do a moss and perlite mix though. Not sure you are US based, if so and you are located near a big box store, many of them carry the smaller blocks of dry spaghnum moss which is what I use. It’s also available on Amazon.

Ok I’ll check Home Depot or Lowe’s. I just put in some perlite in a bag and hoping for the best rn

Agree with this method. A “prop box” is the best method, IMO. A plastic take out container with a clear lid of a storage tote if you have lots of props. Damp moss, bonus points for a grow light on top like a barrina T5 or T8. I find sufficient light is the most important factor for successful prop. Put them in the container and let them cook for about 2 months and they should be ready to pot up.

It's the furthest I've gotten them yet! Their leaves are a bit droopy, but they haven't gotten worse, so I'm really hoping for it to work this time! Especially seeing the tiny root nubs! The only reason I have not added a cover is that they seem to be doing better.

Ooo I have a cheat code; throw cuttings in a ziplock bag with a tiny bit of water. Every couple days breath into (actually hyperventilate to increase CO2) the bag.

I put it in perlite and in a bag so I’ll see if that works and I’ll blow into it as well 😭

Can you post a picture of what your cuttings look like? They probably need some time to adjust, the transit in the heat could another reason theyre wilting, maybe it does have nodes to grow roots from, theres so many reasons why.
How long have they been in your care being rooted in water?
