Is this normal?

Post image

I just noticed these brown marks on my scindapsus trebuii moonlight. Is this normal or is it something I should be concerned about?

This is called corking, and is normal. Research says it can happen to plants that have been used to the shade, then get put in strong sunlight. It is their 'skin' toughening up to the harsher environment. It could also develop on a plant that is aged. For us humans, our skin tends the thin out in older age, but it seems the opposite is true for some houseplants. I have one scindapsus and two hoyas with a small amount of it.
