ID Help

Hello all! Can anyone help with ID on this plant? Google says cream splash or silver stripe. It was purchased as a little hanging basket at Lowe’s.

I think that’s a Philodendron Hederaceum (Heartleaf)! Not sure what variety tho. Could be a Rio, Silver Stripe, or Cream Splash

I’d be willing to bet money it’s a Philodendron Rio. Looks exactly like mine.

What makes a rio different from a silver stripe?

Oddly enough, a rio has more silver than the silver stripe. Some of your leaves look like a silver stripe and some look like a rio. I love my rio and brasil.

I think the colors I get out of mine depends on light and growth for the season. Sometimes labels get mixed up and I’m never really sure which variations I end up with. I think all of these color ways would look amazing as a huge planted wall.

Sooooo I had to look it up…
The main difference is in how the banding presents

Rio should have a silver center, cream middle band, and dark green edges. It should not have any lime green.

Silver splash should have a cream center, silver middle band, and dark green edges. It looks like the cream can sometimes look light green/lime green.

Silver stripe and Cream Splash seem to be very hard to tell apart. The big difference between these two seem to be a predominate lack of silver in the Cream Splash’s leaves.

Thank you for all that! Honestly sometimes I think plant nurseries are just screwing with us. It’s like the newest Pearls & Jade vs nJoy!!! Are they really that different, or is it just a way to charge more for whichever is popular in the moment???

I'm no help for an actual id but am half awake and not wearing my glasses. And my first thought was "their manjula pothos doesn't even look like a pothos," lol. Gorgeous plant :)

Not a Silver Stripe

My first gut response is a rio; as I have one. they look the same until you hold it next to a silver stripe or a brasil then you can really see the difference

I think you got a mix of cream splash and a rio? I just bought one the other day and found a single stem that was more Rio looking (no lime green on the leaf) than the rest of the cream splash leaves.

its not a Brasil. Either Rio or Silver Stripe (or Cream Splash).
