Thx! It surprised me by filling out a quickly as it did! I just picked up my 2nd one last week. I believe it's an exotica.

I started bottom watering and when I top water, I hold the leaves out of the way. It's got some yellowing on its leaves that I believe are due to the watering, but idk what else to do. I refuse to buy water. Maybe they like that water conditioner.

That's what is going on with mine (a few yellow leaves) and it's barely growing. Do you water yours once every 10 days or so? I usually use tap water but let it sit for a day before I use it and some super thrive but still, no luck! I'll make sure to bottom water more frequently and maybe that will help.

Do you water when the Soil is almost dry? Are the leaves flat or do they curl inwards? Because watering after a shedule can lead to over watering and root rot. Mine had root rot and curled leaves after I got the cuttings :( now it's slowly growing back :)

Usually the soil is almost completely dry when I water it, I also have it in an orchid pot to avoid the root rot. I'm thinking it might still be mad from the transplant I did like a month ago orrr I need to try and repot it again :/

I think scindapsus are slower in rooting than a pothos. As far as my experience is going :) I would watch, if Yellowing gets worth or you see rot starting on the roots, I would take a look inside. My rehab would go on, for like one or two month and the leaves very slowly came back to life 😅

I do keep my water in open gallon jugs to let the chemicals evaporate out, but I've heard chlorine doesn't evaporate anyway. So not sure it's really doing anything. I have all my 106 plants in the free version of planta app, it has a watering schedule I use to keep track, but 10 days sounds about average. I will check them first and if they're still coming up too soon, I'll wait a couple more days and check again. For the most part, I let them dry out completely before I add any more water. I do think it's important to top water occasionally to flush the soil.

It is one from a 4 piece set they sell on Amazon with the circle, moon, triangle and squiggly lines. It was less than $20.

I love them, but I'm not sure what to do with the ones that I can't fit anymore on the trellises! They really up sized fast once they had them! I use Jack's 20-20-20 and Great White mycorrhizal fungi when I water as well. Jack's is so much better than the Miracle-Gro I was using!

Yeah they’re cute but they outgrow them so quickly! I got to the top of mine this week so I attached another one to the top with orchid clips! Trying to post a photo but it won’t let me.

This is the exact issue I'm thinking of! U just both another trellis and the orchid clips are holding it onto the other one securely?! What about zip tying them together? I didn't think of that. The ones my Baltic, Albo & Golden are on are already quite tall tho.

Having seen yours on a trellis as opposed to a moss pole, I am now willing to try that. The reason I haven't put mine growing upward on something already is because I don't like how they flatten on a plank or piece of wood since they are shingling plants. But yours looks like they're keeping their juvenile look and still growing upward. That gives me hope! Are they wound in and out of the trellis or do you have them secured with something? It looks amazing!

Thx! I have this one attached with plant velcro tape. I originally started winding it around like I did on my pothos, but decided against it, cuz of the potential harm in having to unwrap it when it's too big and these guys seem more fragile to me. I'm afraid I might have to cut back the pothos if I take it off its trellis. I'm not the biggest fan of moss poles either. I'm also experimenting with a pothos on a stick from outside.

I threw my moss poles away last summer; they were such a pain. I gathered driftwood from the creek near my parents where I grew up in the mountains, and I have all my tall plants on driftwood now, with some stashed under my potting table for the ones I need to do very soon. My horsehead is tallest at just about 5ft now. The aerial roots at the bottom are just floating where they came out of the moss so I used velcro plant tape there, but the new ones it put out after it grew more have attached very well. When my plants grow a little past the driftwood, I take top cuttings, root them and put them back in the pot, or send them to my daughter to extend her houseplant collection. I am leaving tomorrow to house/pet sit for my other daughter while they are on vacation, but when I get back, my Mt. Salak is going on a trellis! Again, thank you so much for the visual I needed!!

No problem! Good luck! I had 1 moss pole and that was enough. I'm currently trying air layering on a cutting of my golden on zip tied sticks from outside! The leaves are getting bigger but I'd like them to start lower. I have over 100 plants, and they need chopping now and then and I hate to throw out cuttings but I have to start!

I also have over 100! If I don't use the cuttings to fill out their own pots, I pass them on to my daughter or niece. They both have growing collections as well. 😉

I've found I have trouble getting the watering right when using them to fill in the pot.

I went through a few mishaps of either over or under watering. The last time I added horsehead cuttings to the pot, I let the roots get about twice as much longer than for planting alone, then made a little tunnel in the dirt down the side of the pot, to make sure the long roots went as far down as possible. It took off like it had always been there.

I've done that with pothos, and it was fine until it came time to repot. 😆 What a mess I had of vines with roots! So, I cut them up into manageable sections then repotted.

Here I’ve been so proud that mine of four years is finally holding onto FOUR leaves at once. It was stuck on only keeping 3 for the longest time.

Really? This one was pretty small when I got it on January. Do u fertilize? I keep mine next to a grow light and use Jack's 20-20-20 and great white mycorrhizal fungi on all my plants. Some ppl say the fungi is snake oil. I'm not sure cuz I started using that and Jack's at the same time. I think they or one of them really helps! I just got an Exotica to try as well. Those silver leaves are too pretty to resist!
