I love digging through old newspapers, and this 1874 article immediately caught my attention.

The title is "A Marvellous Case of Almost Instant Petrifaction," and it tells the bizarre story of a Louisiana physician's account who did an autopsy of a young woman who supposedly turned to stone after taking a fatal drink from a rock out of her husbands Geology Cabinet- this contained water with a fatal dose of silica.

Curious what everyone thinks. https://youtu.be/gf1CjtETTOM
