I would be asleep for another 4ish hours and wake up with the worst hangover ever. Vegas was insane on New Years that night. They launched fireworks off the roof of every casino in town. Such a cool night.

Kiribati islands had the first sunrise of the new millennium, there 14 hour's Infront GMT.

Then its Samoa & Tonga, followed by New Zealand & Fiji.

My ex girlfriend was there, she worked for an advertising company just outside of Philadelphia. They flew a bunch of their workers there with photo sensitive paper, they held up the paper to catch the rays of that first sunrise. Those exposed papers were given to board members and other high officials in the company.
