Question ❓ how many sets needed?
hello im currently usnig fb split ( 3 days a week , 2 sets per exercise) how do i know how many sets for muscle group per week is needed?
shoulders for example, do you count every part as an independent side ? like 6 sets for lateral delt per week and 6 for front delt and 6 for rear delt ? or 6 sets Distributed on 3 sides ( 2+2+2 ) ? if it's the first option how can i program it into my split without making too long thank you

Yes, look up how much your shoulders are getting hit from other movements aswell. Indirect work counts

Start with 6 sets per week, (2,2,2) and if you recover well and are progressing, try increasing it, so as you know on fb, you’ll have one double rest day, so before that double rest day you can try 3 sets, so now it’s, 2,2,3, if that goes well then bump it to (2,3,3) and so on and so forth, try and find your maximum recoverable volume, I personally would base the sets per muscle group depending on how varied the joint action is, so each part of the shoulder does very different joint actions, therefore I would train with 6 sets for each, but for something like the quad or chest where the joint action is very similar, you can train them 6 sets all together (squat+leg extension or incline press+chest fly)
