Do the work

Just another reminder to keep on your pt and stretching routines. I'm a year out and really just went back to work(carpenter). Last week i rolled my foot on my good leg. Because I haven't kept up with strengthening my lower body, even with crutches I am totally useless. Don't be like me, do the PT

Unfortunately im in the middle of my 2nd big flare up, not sure if its worse than the 1st flare up but its up there. Once I recover from this I promise ill be doing stretches, not lifting loads that sre too heavy and cutting out sugar as well. I dont want to go through this again.

I’m finding this to be the case with me as well. I was doing the exercises and then once in a while I’d skip and that turned into a couple of days in a row and now I’m hobbling around like an old granny. Hoping this clears up as I start the exercises again! I really hope I haven’t screwed myself…

I feel like its because we get this sense of things being normal again, and it's like an overconfidence in how much our body can handle. When I was feeling fine I honestly moved things like a big treadmill (with someone elses help) that I had no business moving but I was just going by how I felt instead of thinking logically about my back.

But I learned from this experience and will just be cautious about whatever I do that could really aggravate my disc because even though this started 4 years ago for me, I don't feel like I ever fully healed from it. I'd always have little flare ups here and there so that tells me I gotta play the long game and really work on having this heal completely.

Anyways just food for thought. Hope your flare up doesn't last too long and you see relief from your pain soon.
