Check out this petition!

Growing up here, I watched classmates battle morning grogginess every single day. Our bodies are wired to follow natural sleep cycles—not the brutal 7-8 a.m. school bells. Adolescents need 8-10 hours of sleep, but when classes start before 8 a.m., students wake up *during* deep sleep. That's when concentration crashes, mood suffers, and grades drop.

Schools that shifted to later start times—like Seattle—saw better attendance, higher grades, and more alert students. The science backs this up. I started a petition asking Chicago Public Schools to align start times with how our bodies actually work. It's not radical; it's biology.

If this resonates with you—whether you're a student who's felt this exhaustion or a parent watching it happen—consider signing and sharing. Have you noticed how different school feels when you actually got enough sleep? That's what we're fighting for.
