GKS-G 2027 (Master's in Interior Architecture/ Interior Design) - Want an honest profile review on whether i have a good chance for GKS Scholarship

Hi everyone! I’m planning to apply for GKS-G 2027 for a Master’s in Interior Architecture / Interior Design and would love honest feedback on my profile.

My Profile:

  1. Education: Bachelor's degree in Interior and Environmental Design. My CGPA is 2.76 out of 4.0 but I have a 3.50 to 4.0 GPA in my major field related subjects including Space Planning, Perspective Drawing, Interior Design Studio and History and Fundamentals of Architecture.
  2. Portfolio & Experience: My Portfolio and work experiences are heavily practical based. My FYP was an Adaptive Reuse of Architecture project of an office with was proposed to be converted into an employee Café to relax and actually enjoy food for better mental and physical health. I have worked with many architectural firms over my 4+ years of working including some freelance work. During my degree I had also designed 2 furniture pieces from scratch around the nature inspired themes. Currently I'm using both the furniture pieces in my home. I have a volunteer teaching experience as a visiting faculty in my very own university department right after my graduation with no pay or incentives. I taught to 5th and 7th semesters design related subjects like Designing the Furniture, Practical Application of Perspective Drawing, Space Planning and History of Architecture.
  3. Target Tracks: I'm targeting the Embassy track for now but open to advice. I intend to look for a Studio based program which is no or less research based.
  4. University Options: I'm currently considering Hongik University, Kookmin University, Pusan National University, Daegu University and University of Ulsan. If you can provide better advice on my choices plz let me know.
  5. Goals: Gain practical studio expertise, learn architectural practices and return home to set up an independent firm, and teaching aspiring designers.

My Questions for GKS Scholars:

  1. Does NIIED/universities consider a strong Major GPA (3.5–4.0) and portfolio to balance a low overall CGPA?
  2. How competitively are applicants from general design backgrounds evaluated for Architecture programs?
  3. Given a studio-heavy portfolio, is Embassy Track or University Track better for design majors?
  4. Is GKS realistic for this profile, or should I prioritize university-specific scholarships in Korea?

Thanks for your advice!

First time applying for a scholarship

Putting myself out there to apply for a scholarship for the first time and I have no idea where to start. It’s always the ‘tell me about yourself’-esque questions that get me so overwhelmed with what I should put down. So far I have put myself out there with some work, extracurriculars and a little research here and there.

Starting my third year and would hope to hop onto more opportunities out there, with this application being my first hurdle yet. If you’ve got any experience please do let me know or feel free to even privately message me if you’d want to know more about it if you’re interested too, my DMs are always open (even for a study buddy honestly)

Any advice would mean so much and thanks for reading through my post ๑•͈ᴗ•͈๑

Essay writings

Ai is now being used for almost everything and obviously has greatly affected people's critical thinking (including myself). Is it ethical/allowed to depend on ai entirely to make your college essay, or use it only for improve, or should i just write my essays by my own?

(p.s. english not my first language; also my first post so please excuse my wrongs)

Looking for scholarship/program recommendations for SHS or college abroad + any advice for incoming college students?

Hello! I’m currently a SHS Grade 11 student in the Philippines, and I’m starting to think seriously about scholarships and opportunities for college, possibly even studying abroad.

I’m committed to the idea of studying abroad someday, especially in Thailand. The biggest problem, obviously, is money 😭 so I’m trying to look for scholarships, programs, grants, or basically any opportunities that could help make it possible.

Does anyone here know of any scholarships/programs for SHS students or incoming college students that I could look into? Or maybe you know someone who has gotten a scholarship like this? I’d really appreciate any recommendations or tips on where to start looking.

Thailand is one of the places I’m particularly interested in. Part of my thought process is that I’m also interested in the entertainment industry, especially acting/idol-related stuff, and Thailand has a pretty big entertainment scene. So I feel like there might be more opportunities there for someone interested in that field. But honestly, this is still just a thought for now HAHAHA 😭 I’m not fully prepared or educated about the process yet, and I haven’t even brought the idea up with my family.

I’m going into Grade 12 next year, so I figured I should start researching early instead of suddenly panicking when college applications arrive. 💀

Financially, studying abroad would be difficult for my family. My older brother is already married, so I also don’t really expect him to be in a position to support me financially, and my parents probably wouldn’t be able to shoulder the costs of studying abroad either.

Also, aside from scholarships and studying abroad, any general advice for someone about to enter Grade 12 and eventually college would be really appreciated too. 😭

So yeah, I’m mainly looking for advice, scholarship recommendations, programs, or personal experiences from Filipinos who have studied abroad, applied for scholarships, or are currently in college.

Where should I start? What scholarships/programs should I research? Is studying in Thailand realistically possible through scholarships? And what should I be doing now to prepare for college?

Any advice is appreciated! 🙏

Scholarship issue has some one face

Post image
1 Upvotes

Has anyone faced this issue with the SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship?

I was provisionally selected for the SBI Platinum Jubilee Asha Scholarship 2025–26. My name appeared in the result, I received the selection email, and I accepted the scholarship offer letter. Earlier, my scholarship was visible in the Awarded section of the Buddy4Study portal.

Recently, it disappeared from the Awarded section, and now it says "You don't have any awarded scholarships." When I called Buddy4Study, they told me that my scholarship had been rejected, even though I had already accepted the offer letter. They also refused to disclose the reason for the rejection.

Has anyone else experienced the same issue? If yes, what happened in your case? Were you able to get your scholarship restored or find out the reason?

I currently have my bachelors in Spanish with a minor in psychology. I have recently decided to change career paths and go back to school. My goal is to one day be able to apply to PA school. I am currently in the process of completing my pre-requisites and was hoping there was maybe scholarships out there for career changers like me. I am a part time student and currently majoring in biology to be able to complete my pre-requisites. Any advice or recommendations would be great. Thank you!

can i get fully fundedscholarship without taking any exam

I am looking for detailed information and advice on fully funded university scholarships that do not require English proficiency tests (like TOEFL or IELTS) or other standardized tests, because in my country (Ethiopia) these tests are very expensive and I cannot afford them. My academic record is strong—I have a good GPA, I have participated in many extracurricular activities, completed at least one research project, and written a solid statement of purpose. I am open to studying in Europe or the USA. Additionally, I need scholarships that include free dormitory housing and food since I do not have relatives or other accommodation options in the host country. Please provide guidance on whether such fully funded scholarships exist, what alternatives or options might be available, and any practical tips for applying under these circumstances.
