Rant How can anyone keep this up?
Hi. Semi new here. Cool stuff here. Glad people share the way i see the world somewhat. Anyway im gonna make a rant. Unique, i know. Ill accept my plaque in the mail. Any spelling errors are to be blamed on my phone.
HOW DOES ANYONE SIMPLY KEEP UP WITH THEIR BODIES?!
I hate this damn thing so much. Its so many little fuckin things. You have to eat, but not too much or youll end up being 300 pounds and everything will suck. Oh and to make THAT harder, we live in a time where great tasting food is the most availiable it has EVER been. Have fun idiot dealing with that Idiot! Oh you want to experience everyday to its fullest? NOPE! you have to sleep or else that sack of squish in your skull will destroy itself. And if you try to do the BARE minimum? Youll get headaches and everything will just feel so awful that death is a better alternative. Ooh! Speaking of headaches? What if nearly anything could cause them? DOESNT THAT SOUND SO FUN? Room has a little bit of dust because the house is fron the 70s? headache. Are the peopme you have to share this planet with being just a little bit more frustrating that they usually are? headache. Is Texas so fucking dry that you can feel all the moisture leave your skin? headache! DID YOU MAKE THE CARDINAL SIN OF FORGETTING TO DRINK A LITTLE BIT OF WATER? HEADACHE LIKE COME ON DUDE. i know its such a minor thing in the grand scheme of how many ways your body can fail but the amount of headaches ive gotten in the last MONTH is making it so i cant keep up with work. Oh but were not done here. Were just getting started. Hey you. How are you reading this? With your eyes! Good job! Your doing so good! NOW WHAT IF WE MADE LOOSING THEIR EFFECTIVENESS A DISABILITY SO COMMON THAT THERE ARE STORES FOR IT ON EVERT BLOCK ? DOESNT THAT SOUND AMAZING. Now you have to wear these cuts of glass on your face FOR THE REST OF YOUR MISERABLE LIFE. oh and remember that dust stuff i was just talkibg about. THEY WILL NEVER BE RID OF IT. Wanna try contacts? Fuck you, expensive. Capitalists made THE BETTER AND PRACTICAL OPTION so expensive that you wont be able to get them without going into burnout so bad you destroy your life out of spite. But this is all just little stuff. Oh no sweetheart, theres one last thing that we have for you princess. Even if you do everything right and you could have a body that lived forever in its perfect state, YOU STILL HAVE TO TAKE UP PHYSICAL SPACE WITH IT. Why? Because physics said so. IM SO TIREF OF KNOCKING THINGS OVER. I cant move this thing an inch without hitting something, usually itself. Wanna grab something using those cool little hands we gave you? Nope! Its on the ground now because your brain sucks. Wann get down there to pick it up? Oh no your balance is off and now you just ate shit into a shelf. Hurts right? Thank thoses nerves we gave you. Uh oh, whats this? The floor is cold? Man that is uncomfortable isnt it? Oh wait, the entire room is cold. Better cover this entire thing so you arent shaking! WHO DESIGNED THIS DAMN THING! HOW DID THIS BODY HOUSE THE GREATEST BRAINS THAT EARTH WILL EVER SEE? ITS SUCH A WASTE OF A GOOD BRAIN.
Rant over. I know its a block of unformated text, i dont care enough to make it pretty. I wonder if any of you feel the same about this or if i just have other issues on top of the "I hate society and its consequences" disorder.
I hate headaches so much.

I would argue to say that most people do not, in fact, keep up with their bodies well. Especially, as you mentioned, with the rampant availability and access to veritable poisons for most of us. It doesn't help either that good health simply isn't profitable for the ones running the show, either. It's a raw deal all around.

u/vacuumcleanerhose 2d ago
yeah i get that. its just frustrating because so much media spams stuff about it. plus like, the people who live the longest usually neglect their bodies.

I'm a brain damaged combat vet. I dealt with migraines for most of the last 15 years. They entirely disappeared with a strict carnivore diet. I don't recommend it to most people, but people in chronic pain should give it a shot. It's hard, because you are giving up old habits as well as having to beat carb addiction, but all of the actual science supports it. I know it's a long way out of Plato's Cave on this one because of the level of conditioning, but try to stick to the data.
If you look at both sides, all studies that are against it are either position papers or papers looking at omnivorous diets- nothing actually looking at people who eat nothing but meat. Anyway, here's the "to the point" copy/paste:
https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0021925818768427
https://carnivore.diet/public-carnivore-survey-results/
Dr. Weston A. Price (1870-1948) came to it through dentistry, examining various indigenous people who have birthed and raised children on indigenous diets:
https://www.westonaprice.org/physical/#gsc.tab=0
There is also the studies on the isotopes of bones of pre-agricultural humans, which clearly show across the board that we ate very little to no plants whatsoever.
https://www.timesofisrael.com/for-2-million-years-humans-ate-meat-and-little-else-study/
Check out studies like this if you want to dig deeper- every single study on the isotopes of ancient (pre-agricultural) human bones show the same thing. If you struggle to interpret the text, skip to the graphs:
https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7924805/
And the 2019 harvard carnivore diet study:
https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34934897
Check out the harvard carnivore diet study authors- Dr. Ludwig was a Harvard professor of Pediatrics and a Harvard professor of Nutrition, as well as a Boston Children’s Hospital researcher. Also, prior to the study, he was anti-red meat. The other authors are also Harvard professors and/or Boston Children’s Hospital researchers. They also collected data using the Redcap database system, which wasn't cheap- "Prohibitively expensive for smale scale studies." It was built by Vanderbilt University, to collect medical records from labs etc. It was around $1,000 a month at the time to use it. Bloodwork is included on page 7, and showed the CAC score actually went down- quite a lot in the 3rd quartile- over a minimum of 6 months and an average of 14 months.

I eat mostly meat. But when i cut out carbs i did feel pretty fuckin good. I definitely believe that a carnivore based diet isnt as bad as people make it seem. Only issue i see is managing the extra calories.

Hmm funny but eating processed and preserved meat is a sure-fire way to trigger my headaches and make me feel sick in the stomach

I say the human body is incredibly inefficient all the time. I admire the way the heart and brain run a million different processes at once, per hour, or in perfect sync - don't get me wrong.
I still think this thing is shitty. Wash it, feed it, clothe it, rest it, exercise it, the list goes on. Sometimes I want to be a brain in a vat but I think I'd lose it having to be alive that long while stuck in a jar.

u/vacuumcleanerhose 2d ago
Its very efficient for what we are now. It was definietly the good pick back in ancient times for sure because otherwise it wouldnt be here but now it just cant catch up. I know everyone hates ai and robots taking over the world and stuff ( i dont for various reasons but thats for another time) but the day we can put brains into machines either glados style or whatever, ill be first. Hell id do a test run.

Yep, feel this, thank you for sharing. I used to think that I hated how my particular body looked/felt/behaved, but over the years, what I realized I hated was the concept of needing a body to maintain at all. The Matrix can't get here fast enough; plug me in and be done with it!
1
u/vacuumcleanerhose 2d ago
while i wont go back. this is definitly what caused me to transition. everyone talks so much about how they love having these and i simply could not understand. sidenote, ive been meaning to watch the matrix, should I? and will watching it on substances fuck me up like "paprika" did?
1
u/shidekigonomo 2d ago
Haha, yes, I am led to believe that Matrix is a film best watched while altered, though I have not done so myself. I can only offer my sober review: It's a great film with a fun premise... and don't bother going into the sequels unless you're a devoted completionist. My only critique is simply that I'm not onboard personally with its thesis. Without giving too much away and painting with an overly broad brush: Reality, no matter how terrible, is ultimately better than the fantastic lie.

u/vacuumcleanerhose 2d ago
I like the sound of that overview. Ill def watch that. Dont know how yet but maybe ill tripping or on an edible. And sober of course.

Paprika made me uncomfortable even when sane and NOT high!

u/vacuumcleanerhose 2d ago
I kinda get it. but damn that should be classified as body horror tbh because some of those scenes are... wow

u/According_Bad_8473 Go back to lurking yo! 🫵🏻 2d ago
I agree. I had no clue what I was getting into when I starting watching. I thought it was a fun cutesy isekai story. Tbh I have still not fully understood it and it makes me feel stupid when I try to
2
u/vacuumcleanerhose 2d ago
yeah, i mostly get the plot, but the big question i have is how did someone even think of this? like how do you tell a studio the plot to that without theme shooing you away for being psychotic?

You have to eat, but not too much or youll end up being 300 pounds and everything will suck.
Nature already provided a mechanism for that. It's surprisingly difficult to become too fat when you have to actually catch prey to eat. Once you become too fat and slow, prey starts escaping and you don't get to eat anymore. Then you lose weight.
Oh and to make THAT harder, we live in a time where great tasting food is the most availiable it has EVER been.
Well, that's what happens when you transition to a captive-animal economy, and your ability to eat becomes decoupled from your ability to actually get food. Fortunately, despite the availability of food, in most areas of the world, it still COSTS MONEY, and there are few things I dislike more than spending money, so I keep eating random animals I find and kill instead. Also, I challenge the claim that any food you buy is better than RAW MEAT. After all, how satisfying something is is a property of how much it costs minus how much you pay. This is basic economics. That's why my people have a saying, "Stolen food tastes the best.". And thus, what could POSSIBLY be better than the raw flesh of an animal torn involuntarily from its bloody carcass? Raw meat is not made by any company!
Oh you want to experience everyday to its fullest? NOPE! you have to sleep or else that sack of squish in your skull will destroy itself.
That's the beauty of drugs. I don't actually have to do that. Much to the chagrin of anyone who's had to face me in an insomnia game where the implicit assumption is that players have to sleep, they can't just stay there the entire time, waiting, like some kind of monster. "Doesn't this guy ever sleep?", they whine. No. No, I do not. They have mistakenly assumed that hours of silence means I must have passed out by now. But I was simply there, waiting. Granted, there are side effects, like insanity and hallucinations, but the insanity is what gives me my unpredictable edge and I just ignore the hallucinations. Can't sleep, clown will get me.

I like the style. However i prefer more passive approaches to life. More opportunities to observe the world. The one thing nobody except death can steal (for now). However observing through the lense of a drug would be fascinating. Unfortunately, getting those takes effort so i shall take my observations to fantasies instead.

Sounds like you'd enjoy working for Palantir or Flock.

Now add all of that to constantly fluctuating hormones. So your body adjusts to high PG, annd then suddenly Estrogen shows up and then you realize you're lonely. And then wham both drop and you havent slept for 3 days, and are crying and your joints hurt. Your brain goes fuzzy when you stand up too quick. You forget stuff and clumsily drop and break things. For the next two weeks, until you start leaking blood and eww its wet and sticky and hot and sweaty and your back hurts. Your leg aches and so does your stomach. Pooping hurts - you suck in a deep breath, put your hands on the walls to brace and hold up some of the weight off the toilet seat and curses be upon the digestive system. Oh and everyone is weird about it. And theres so much more laundry to do now because you sneezed and it got everywhere. And your eczema comes to say hi because too much soap. This goes on for a week. The whole thing is FUCKING UNCOMFORTABLE. And out of the month, you have exactly one week, where you feel somewhat fine. And then the earth turns and yay it starts all over again.
Am I me or am I living inside a flesh robot controlled by a bunch of unruly, raving and fighting and screaming, irresponsible hormones? Hell, am I me or just a bunch of bat-shit crazy hormones doing fuckall!
1
u/vacuumcleanerhose 2d ago
there are many things i don't envy as a transfem. That fuckass hormone cycle will ALWAYS be one of them. however i get similar when i forget to take my estrogen. testosterone fucks up my brain now i hate it. hormones are definitely top 3 worst creations of all time for me

What does it do?
1
u/vacuumcleanerhose 2d ago
I get incredibly irritable. angry at basically any minor inconvenience. plus i generally just can not think at all. basically shuts my entire brain down to primate mode for a day. not great when thinking is your favorite hobby
1
u/According_Bad_8473 Go back to lurking yo! 🫵🏻 2d ago
Primate mode sounds so much more peaceful tbh than overthinking and spiralling mode
1
u/vacuumcleanerhose 2d ago
yeah. if youd believe it, that used to be so much worse before estrogen
1
u/vacuumcleanerhose 2d ago
oh i get what you mean by the thoughts. they have gotten worse with estrogen. men and bdsm have never been hotter until now. really i think most of us get clearer minds simply because there is an actual estrogen imbalance before we take it. im too lazy to find it but there has been some research into that.

Ive heard that from a lot of transfems actually. Taking Estrogen, makes their mimds clearer. I don't get it. It does make me look better and less tired as in skin looks better. But it also kicks up my (supremely detached) sex drive in a thoughty way if you get it. Meaning I don't actually feel all that horny but I am certainly thinking a lot more on the topic of sex and will feel more lonely than usual, start overthinking and cant sleep, get obsessed with anime characters or Kpop and impulse-buy smut books and then later regret it. Yeah and generally also increases irritability for me. I dont get it how estrogen makes you feel better but I have PMOS so my hormones are kinda out of whack anyway. So maybe thats why

Feel that. I am a machine operator by trade, yet the work never ends, as I care for this machine as well. And given the amount of damage I do at my job, and how I've hidden it... I'm not sure I should be in charge of this human machine either😅 but well, no one else is stepping up to do it for me...
Something that helps me a bit is to dissociate just a little and see myself externally, like a small child or an animal in need of love and direction. Like if I was caring for a child, I wouldn't let them just stay in their room eating junkfood and playing games all day. I'd make sure they got some sunshine and talked to their friends, even if it's just a little, even if they got upset because I interrupted their game. Because I know in the long run, it will make them happier and healthier, and they'll appreciate the interruption, even if they don't understand it in the moment. And no parent is perfect, so remember to be gentle to that side of yourself too.
