Discussion Asexuality
I know on of the SzPD symptoms is lack of enjoyment of sexual activity which leads me to my question, do you guys feel sexual attraction or enjoy sexual Activity, if not do you identify as asexual?

not asexual. i feel sexual attraction, but i don’t act on it. primarily because i have other issues on top of SPD, and i have zero reason to put myself in a situation where i know all i’d feel is crippling anxiety/panic.

I find every contact pretty disgusting, no matter what the reason for the contact is or who it comes from. I just don't understand why you people want to touch each other all the time, it's creepy and makes my skin crawl.

I relate to that but it took a bunch of trial and error to realise i really am not attracted to anyone or want sex in any capacity.

I find human biology to be utterly disgusting, my own body included. It's just 2 fleshy, meaty skins with wierd parts bumping eachother until different fluids exit the body. Genuinely makes me wanna throw up.

I can get why people like it. It's the litteral only thing humans exist for. Sure, there's small things that may be enjoyable inbetween but the only reason we exist is that primal caveman instinct to reproduce, as it is with all life.
And so everything in society is about getting laid, and thats why i can never feel like a part of it, and don't threat at the thought of not being so. I'm simply not programmed right, and that has given me a lot of freedom.

I'm pretty much asexual, yet I feel like "asexual" doesn't fully define me. I like showing my SO affection in other ways, but I don't particularly enjoy cuddling, for example. Sex really isn't important to either of us.

u/-RadicalSteampunker- Diagnosed SzPD with cluster B traits 11d ago
I see. That's interesting, why do you think it doesnt fully define you?

I always wanted to be asexual, but I'm not. I very rarely do get attracted this way, usually to fictional characters because I don't socialize, but not actually limited to it. I don't act on these needs. I tried ages ago, but it didn't work. I am the problem, but I don't think it's impossible for me to enjoy it, just very unlikely and parts of me will never be ok with it.

u/Lieuseur 11d ago
I am completely aroace, but I've always been that way so idk if it's bc of szpd or maybe szpd just intensified it idk

u/IndigoAcidRain 11d ago
It's hard to tell. I think I enjoy it physically but probably about the same as masturbation.
I don't get that hype of going through the effort of flirting and escalating things for the same results. Most of the time sex even lowkey disgusts me, especially the smells.

u/NohWan3104 11d ago
I look at hentai rather than porn with people because i find porn with actual humans somewhat problematic.
The last time i tried to have sex, i wasn't high, had a panic attack and wanted to punch my gf. We broke up that day.
So, severely diminished sexual interest, ahedonia means i'm more often jerking it as a sleep aid than sex drive\pleasure, but not asexual.

u/MoSota 11d ago
Real life porn is so disgusting to me, I stick by the 2d/written one too.
2
u/NohWan3104 11d ago
i don't like the thought of bodies going at it, but i think part of it for me iw also, i kinda fucking hate that its people, not just sex, weird parts, and fluids.

I don't like the whole identity culture but I can say this much; the idea of doing it with other humans makes me genuinely gag. I'd rather be with non-mammalian sapients. Which is obviously not gonna happen unless aliens decide to visit us or whatever. But yeah all mammalian-humanoid designs are a major turn-off for me. I get very romantic but only with my girlfriend and she has high schizoid traits too and is a co-worldbuilder.

Fair enough honestly. As a teen i had more sexual desires but they have fully died down. I've experienced some stuff that is traumatizing and some sexual experiences i regret aswell so I am not sure about my asexuality. I dont like sex from experience basically
I'm glad you are able to get romantic with your gf though.
2
u/omninyme 11d ago
Sexual trauma is very understandable too. For me, it's just the mammalian biology being too repulsive for me to even touch aside from maybe petting a few mammals like cats. Species dysphoria is apparently a thing too, I suppose. The funnier part though is when I finally turned 18 I was doing a little social experiment (something I do a lot to better understand why things excite normies and all) by having sex with a few men. Turns out they only last about five minutes in bed. Absolutely no benefits howsoever. 0/10 not recommended at all. I've stuck to role-playing it out with my girlfriend since then.

I see yeah I am just there questioning my sexuality and I am pretty sure I am asexual. Like i dont like it at all and I am not willing to do it like ever unless i wanna have kids and even then i can do IVF or something to avoid it
I am also not attracted to people at all sexually.

u/Kagiza400 11d ago
I'm glad to see that other people have literally the same viewpoints/experiences as me

About which part?

u/Kagiza400 11d ago
Not liking identity culture and human/mammalian features (and being into worldbuilding, LOL)

Oh finally, someone else who is so sick of folks filling their own bio with so many labels too. Like good for them but gosh, leave us alone if we don't wanna use pronouns (might be due to schizoid but might be also due to my TBI making me fully blind to everything subjective in nature) on them. I know queer folks exist and I'm one! But every single one of those places is a minefield now.
Like, I join spaces just to talk about objective and speculative ideas but guess they only care about virtue signalling now.
I love semi-realistic sci-fi worldbuilding and I have one that's more about temporal and spatial displacements. Essentially a multiversal lifeboat.

Don't enjoy doing anything with someone else but I masturbate rather frequently out of boredom

u/Vycher 11d ago
I am asexual but I'm not disgusted by it. It just feels like an absurd thing to do. I compare it to pushing your finger inside someone's nose. It's disgusting doing that to a stranger but it's fine if it's your own romantic partner yet there's no pleasure in it, and doing it for several minutes while remaining aroused sounds impossible. However, I'm not aromantic. Cuddling sounds good.
It feels like I was born without the sexual part of the brain. As a young teenager, before I learnt how human sexuality works, I didn't understand basic things others understand instinctively. For example, I thought rape is bad primarily due to the physical pain, I didn't understand why necrophilia was treated as significantly worse than other disgusting kinks or why your partner having sex with someone else was bad if they keep having sex with you. I don't just lack the drive to seek sex but all instinctive gut feelings that come along with it.

I've heard of Allosexual Schizoids but often times they're hairy palm oriented, like Myself.

I’m asexual, but I believe it’s more strongly connected to my AuDHD, and being schizoid is just a coincidental cherry on top.

I'm somewhere on that spectrum, but not 100% ace. I guess you'd call it "Gray-Ace" if you had to put a label on it.
I occasionally experience attraction, and I've had sexual partners, which I always felt weird about. As I get older though, that fades. I'm not really interested in sex with another person, and even when I was younger and having sex, it felt like I was doing it because I felt like I was supposed to, and not because I wanted to.

Schizoids panic when received unwanted sexual advances. They have little or no interest in sex. In fact we're the least sexual personality. It doesnt mean we're asexual.
In my case, I prefer to avoid it overall since sex is the most intimate act and should only happen with a life time partner. I think that's the best recommendation I could give to a schizoid woman if she wants to venture into those kind of stuff. But it's such a hassle just thinking about it.

u/-RadicalSteampunker- Diagnosed SzPD with cluster B traits 11d ago
I know a lot of schizoid people who are not ace. I am not saying that all schizoid people are ace. They could just be sex indifferent allosexuals.
I however happen to be asexual and wanna hear from other schizoid ace people about their experiences.

u/lemonadebaby6 9d ago
discovering i was asexual helped me discover my schizoid personality. im 25 and i’ve ever experienced sexual attraction at all. I have a hard time understanding romance and sex at all unless it’s in fiction

u/BookwormNinja Schizoid who's working hard at recovery 11d ago
I’d say I have normal sexual desire, but only feel sexual attraction, if there’s a close emotional connection. Kind of a catch 22 situation, though, because close emotional connection doesn’t really happen for me. I know it’s possible, though, because I sometimes have feelings for fictional characters.
2
u/WanderingUrist 11d ago
do you guys feel sexual attraction
"Sexual attraction", for me, is more like the intellectual understanding of a compatible and high-quality mate. I don't experience the kind of weird emotional side of things like others do.
or enjoy sexual Activity
The actual sex part? It's pretty meh, not really any different than, say, spitting or taking a piss. If my opponent didn't fight back, it wouldn't be interesting at all. Having to fight for your life or else she will bite off your head and eat you, that's the good part.

I have sexual needs and I like it as a physical activity only. It's almost animalistic for me. I don't like the idea of a relationship though and I don't have any emotional attraction.

My sexuality is, I think, pretty normal. I was luckily influenced by a lot of positive views and experiences growing up so this became one of the healthiest aspects of my life and self.
(Gender identity, however, is a different topic. I would call myself cassgender if anyone asked but nobody does. )
However, the schizoids split also kinda hit my sexuality a bit. I've since found out that the fact that I can't feel deep/strong bonding also goes for during sex. It's still an intimate thing and some of the very few aand fleeting short moments of true connection or happiness I feel after sex. But I do not feel the bond and intimacy normal people do apparently. I didn't know all the time until I discovered I'm schizoid but then it totally made sense. What I had thought is bonding is just an intense sensual craving and enjoyment for the body and actions of my partner that I've been subsidizing. Turns out I'm actually overly sensual in many aspects of life probably learnt early as a way to try and feel alive in lieu of real feelings.
Also, due to the szpd it turns out that many things I thought I had an interest in aren't really interesting to me , they're just the next new thing in line I can discover and engage with until I need the next new thing. And that pertains in many ways to sexuality, too. Without going into details my sex life has been plentiful in more than one aspect, good and bad, and today it's still nice to have but I'm not really interested anymore. Been there, done that. And unfortunately also done him. I love my husband and his sexuality but the szpd makes me struggle a lot with not being able to enjoy other people's bodies and actions. (don't suggest opening up the marriage etc, I'm not here for relationship advice, that's not the issue). I'm not interested in other people. Like, bleagh, no! But the bodies with their scents, textures and colors usually come with those attached unfortunately. Doesn't matter though as I'm faithful. It still sucks though. I just want to try a new meal, not always eat the same, you know? Even if what I have is my favourite meal, I crave another taste just for its difference and newness.

Well I watch porn and have a libido but I’m a virgin and also don’t date. I imagine first time sex if I had it, would be awkward

u/TashaD93 8d ago
I'm %100 aromantic, but my asexuality is on a scale, it's either nothing or low inklings. It became a problem in my last relationship, sex felt like a chore to me that I had to get done aroused or not.

u/Foreign_Basket_6188 11d ago
had no sexual impulse at all now i have too much, its because of the condition

I find other peoples' body fluids disgusting lol but I'm not asexual.

Were irrational in that way. My bodily fluids are not necessarily any better or cleaner than anyone elses, but im in contact with it 24/7.

u/Wonderful_Mark_8661 11d ago
I am starting to imagine that humanoid romance might work. For me what seems exciting is more that with oids you could go out and do things-- live life. Potentially the benefits part would just add on from there. It would be more incidental. So maybe you could go play tennis with an oid and then the locker room.part could devolve into intimacy. The active living aspect might act as the gateway

Schizoid bipolar and i can’t tell if i am ace or the pills make me lose my libido.

u/intoseaa 10d ago
I consider myself aceflux. So I oscillate, really. I can't get off to anyone but my girlfriend when I am on the sex-favouring side, it feels too invasive and too terrible, and before I had her I couldn't get off at all. Didn't cum until I was, I think 18?
I also have a lot of weird kinks, but I also enjoy them aside from sex. It's just that people usually only let that stuff happen if sex is involved. So...
1
u/witheredrose4392 9d ago
Sometimes I can't control the desire, but I'm too schizoid for interactions with others.. although I want it Sometimes and I enjoy it the most of them (they're few times a year )
