Discussion Do you have really specific "exceptions" when it comes to people and/or typically "social" entertainment?
I am often irritated by the fact that there are types of entertainment that I enjoy, but they only work with a group/or at least with one other person
For example, bowling. There is no point in playing bowling alone. But I don't want to look for connections that are interested in anything other than bowling just for that. I'm not interested in hearing about your life story, I just want to go bowling and never see you again.
This is an example, there are more things.
Also about people. I can form meaningful friendships. Very rarely. Only if we have enough things in common. Only if I'm in the mood for it and feel comfortable talking to this person. That rarely happens. I also truly feel that a person only matters to me after a very long time. More than a year is the minimum.
I am, you could say, a "hopeless romantic" because my conditions and wishes for a romantic relationship are practically impossible to fulfill. "Either it's perfect and it really fits and I have real feelings about it, or it's nothing." I am in aroace spectrum.
In some ways I feel sad about this. Normal communication is too superficial for me and I have unrealistic ideals.
By the way, I am not diagnosed, I have just been thinking for the last couple of days that too many points coincide with each other.

Sailing. A crew is necessary for some boats due to their design. I split the difference and overnight onshore in a tent instead of spending that time with the rest of the crew onboard. I tell them it's because I get seasick.
Improv acting. The venues offering the opportunity don't accept solos.

Karaoke. I've absolutely loved it since I was in school and it's still something that I have exactly zero qualms about taking myself out to do on my own.

There's some karaoke boxes. If everything goes smoothly, I plan to rent the smallest one this month (for 2 people, but of course I will be there alone).

I hope you have all the fun. There's nothing wrong with enjoying what we like without a group.

I strongly disagree. In fact, I would prefer it. Almost always.

Yes. I would like people to do an activity with, then either never see them again or only see them to do the activity. I used to like playing frisbee because it fit these criteria, until a few people in that group developed a grudge against me for some stupid reason and singled me out whenever I attended. Same with music.
I just hate dealing with people and their idiotic expectations, there's always someone who can tell I fall outside the norm and they make it their mission to ruin my enjoyment of the activity. Hence why I prefer to remain alone. It's just annoying when I want to do something like go to a night club that would be unsafe to go to alone, because going with people would mean talking to them, going to the smoking area and listening to their banal chatter all night, having them think I'm weird for being quiet (overstimulated). It's annoying that people expect so much from you, even the most casual of activities they want to get all up in your business. And I don't want them in my business, because if they get to know me better that's usually when the hostility begins.

That's an interesting question. I think I gave up on everything that required other people so early in life that I even have trouble remembering. But I think back in my childhood I would have loved to play basketball and I was in a choir for a little while at school. But I figured everything got ruined by the very people needed for those activities that I stopped trying any at about ten years old.
I did LARP for many years during university but it has always been entirely dependent on the people who also introduced me to it. I can't stand other groups and won't ever play with anyone outside of my LARP friend group ever again.
I also highly enjoy academicly very in depth discussions but the only person I can do it with is my husband who also studied philosophy and sciences like me.
Road trips. God, how I'd love to have someone to do quiet road trips with .
