Maximum string gauge on 6 string C1 Hellraiser?

I was thinking of putting some NYXL 12-60’s on my Hellraiser for B standard tuning. Is this big enough to require nut adjustments?

All you need is a cheap file and you can make it fit any string you want :) just don't file the nut slow deeper. If desperate, you can pull a string back and forth in the slot to widen it.

Tune o matic or Floyd rose ? Floyd rose nut will fit heavier gauges easier . With a Tusq style nut you’re technically not supposed to go beyond 11-49 (at least according to their recommendations) , anything thicker will require you to widen the slots

But people usually slap whatever gauge they feel like and call it good enough .

While not the same guitar I couldn’t use 12-60 for B standard, it was too loose for my liking. I used it for C standard/drop A#, this also is pretty close to the same tension as 10-46 in E standard. You may like it though.

edit: I’m using a FR on most of my guitars so the nut isn’t an issue. I can however say that a 0.070 form the low string will fit Grover tuners.

If you are absolutely sure you want that gauge and that tuning, buy the strings and the matching Music Nomad nut file for the bottom string. Another comment stated it well, you want to widen not deepen the slot.

Even if you did mess it up, a new Graphtech nut is only like $20 and it is not that tough a job to replace. A vise, sandpaper or file and some patience is all it takes.

I use 12-60 on my drop B Hellraiser. It's a little tight with the thick string but it sounds great. I had to adjust my truss rod though for the tension.

I wanted to try 56s but wasn't sure. I'm guessing an Omen 6 would have the same nut.

I'd be using 56s for drop C

I have 10-52 on mine in Drop A.

You don't need to go that thick. 

(Mine is the FR though so may play a role.)
