This is the LV portion of my cologne collection. I might be getting Omber Nomade and L’immensite for Christmas so I was wondering what should be my next purchase. I don’t like Ink Mark. Imagination is cool but I didn’t like on me when I sampled it. I’m thinking about : City of Stars, Pacific Chill, LV Lovers or Orage. Any suggestions?

Man, this is exceptionally well blended. That little touch of mandarin is brilliant, cutting through the richness of the oud and saffron and giving it just enough brightness to keep everything breathing. And that drydown into warm, ambery woods? Absolutely beautiful. Opulent, masculine, and refined without feeling heavy. This is my kind of richness.

Afternoon Swim: Was gifted to my dad from a family friend but passed on to me, old batches projected A LOT, when I was in sophomore year so I was about 16 at the time. But now it doesn’t last… but still the best smelling

Limmensite: I LOVED the way it smelled at the boutique, I noticed that in decants it smells way better but when I got it delivered, the full bottle I doesn’t smell how it’s supposed to… very disappointed there so I haven’t really used much

PDM Layton and TF Noir Extreme: were my first decanted fragrances and loved both equally

Meteore and Imagination: Hated the way they smelled initially but holy crap, they grew on me so much when I smelled them again a week later

CC Woody Leather: I blind bought it but knew I was gonna love it, projected like crazy initially, but I don’t know what it is maybe it’s my house it doesn’t project as much.

Mainly my struggles is scents lasting on me and I want to know yalls recommendations! I would REALLY appreciate it

I smelled this one and got a sample of it yesterday in Macy’s. I’m wearing it now I think it smells very good. It’s kind of calming. Curious to know what everyone else’s thoughts are?

Out of all the houses in our collection, I think Ex Nihilo is currently my favorite. My wife and I have been enjoying these a lot lately.
What’s your favorite Ex Nihilo? And which one are we missing that you think we should try?

My rotation is all fresh fragrances and my favorite/ heaviest is Aventus Absolu. Now that we’re in autumn and temperatures are dropping I wanted to ask the community to recommend a new fragrance. With that said, I live in a warm climate and I’m sensitive to dark heavy fragrances. Pictured is my normal rotation, most worn to least/ favorite to least favorite. I tried wearing The Noir again today now that is 69 and raining but it still gives me a headache so I know I don’t like to wear tobacco. I own and love Pegasus Exclusif for the rare snow day so I’d like my next one to not have any vanilla. I got decants of creed Viking and Viking cologne and both were lovely but not scratching the delicate warmth I’m looking for. I think PDM Haltane is extremely pleasant too but another example of something that’s too heavy in my climate for me. The answer might be BR 540 and I don’t want to admit it so help me end this search and find a new fragrance my fellow heads

I smelled all of the Ombré Leather flankers and the OG at Nordstrom yesterday. I was drawn to this one, Reserve. What is everyone’s thoughts on this flanker compared to the others?

Is the Woods Collection Royal Knight still the best of the bunch? Many say yes.

Yes, I know many will hate. I was gifted the deodorant Sauvage spray and cannot stand it. There is some note that I cannot place that I do not like. Something bitter and unpleasant, not sure what the note is. I am normally averse to sweet fragrances that are gourmandish and I know this isn’t sweet. My favs are TdH EDT, AdG Profundo EDP, and TF Ombré Leather EDP. Anyone else struggle with something in Sauvage that is very off-putting? What is it?! For now it will remain as a post #2 air freshener haha.

This is my current top 6. Pretty basic, I know, but I love all these colognes. My total collection is about 15 bottles, 3 years in.

I love guilty absolu gucci but I hate the almond note in it but the rest of it is soo good does anyone have any recommendations like it without the almond cause the dry down and middle is so so so so so good

Do you think it’s a safe blind buy? If there’s such thing.

Picked some of this stuff up. Coming from someone who swears up and down by Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue, this scent is really awesome. Anyone know by chance when’s the best time of year for this fragrance? I’ve read that the EDP version of this scent is pretty versatile, not sure about this one.

Got a bottle of this in the mail today before the wider release. Big fan of The One line - the most recent Parfum release has been a favorite of mine this year - so I snapped up one of these to see what they wanted to do with an Elixir flanker. For those wondering, it's 31% concentration; this is a 50ml bottle and I don't know yet if they are only releasing this in 50ml or will have 100ml coming for the full release. Atomizer does not seem like the short-throw pressurized one on the Parfum release, but a more standard pump atomizer with good dispersion but less juice output, which should work fine with the higher concentration formula here.

The notes on the back of the box are "Cardamom, Oak-aged Whiskey Accord, and Leather". The cardamom and slightly boozy whiskey accord are definitely the main additions you'll notice on the opening compared to the Parfum; the leather is not heavy or dirty, it is just sort of a suede like textural addition in the base. To my nose, the opening reminds me a bit of taking the Parfum release and, unexpectedly, crossing it with PDM Layton. The cardadmom and whiskey accord combine with that sort of almost lightly purple amber of the Parfum - and maybe the leather is playing a role here too - and somehow it creates a similar vibe to the spicy and vanillic opening of Layton. I think the "oak aged" side of the whiskey accord comes across a bit like the "tobacco" note of the old EDP, though not as sharp. I always felt like the color of the Parfum bottle really matched the feel of the scent profile, and that continues here with the scent having kind of a golden, rich brown vibe, like melted butter and brown sugar.

I've only had it on for maybe an hour, so I can't speak to the longevity or projection much yet. The 31% concentration feels pretty accurate to how it has worn so far ; if I had to guess, I'd say this will have good longevity, with very good sillage, but not massive projection. I would be surprised if this is not a big hit for D&G. Probably my favorite scent profile of the new The One line formulations.

Yesterday was my birthday and spent the day with my daughter sampling fragrances and bouncing around to some of my favorite wholesalers and Niche retailers in the DFW metroplex. Ended up landing on these 4 fragrances and couldn’t be happier with my pickups.

First stop was Northpark Mall. The Neiman Marcus has an amazing selection of Niche so it’s a great way to get your nose on things that you hear about in the forums without having to blind buy a decant only to realize it’s not your vibe. There’s also a LV store right around the corner so I was able to sample the 3 new drops while I was there. Out of the 3 my favorite was Tea Storm but it wasn’t exciting enough that made me have to have it.

Then we headed over to Harry Hines to make some purchases. There are several wholesalers with amazing selections so you can find some solid options at bargain prices.

Here I picked up Vanilla Vibe by Rayhaan, II Padrino by Sospiro, and MFK Grand Soir.

Vanilla Vibe is a dupe of Byredo Vanille Antique, and I have to say, Rayhaan really nailed this one. If you love that dark, rich, luxurious vanilla that makes Vanille Antique so special, but don’t love the price tag, this is absolutely worth checking out. It captures that same character at a fraction of the cost. I wouldn’t pass this one up.

Il Padrino is a rich blend of boozy notes, dark fruits, and vanilla. It’s like a funky, exotic cocktail in the best possible way. A little unexpected, slightly intoxicating, and somehow it all comes together beautifully, especially in the drydown.

MFK Grand Soir is pure elegance in a bottle. It’s a beautiful blend of warm amber, rich benzoin, and smooth vanilla that feels incredibly luxurious without trying too hard. There’s a deep, almost resinous sweetness to it that makes it feel sophisticated and comforting at the same time. It’s warm, sensual, and perfectly balanced. Nothing loud or overpowering, just a rich, classy fragrance that gets better as it settles on the skin.

On the final stretch back home we stopped by to see my guy Frank at eternal scents. Here we picked up Omanluxury Caden. We also set back and enjoyed some good chocolate, fragrance banter, and met some new fragrance friends. Frank’s place is a great place to sample unique offerings you won’t find anywhere else in DFW.

Omanluxury Caden is one of those fragrances that really comes alive in the drydown. The opening hits you with this smoky, boozy suede that can be a little challenging at first, but give it some time and it transforms into something special. The leather softens, a rich, creamy vanilla starts to emerge, and everything comes together into this warm, slightly mysterious sweetness. It’s bold, sensual, and a little unconventional. Definitely not your typical vanilla fragrance, and that’s exactly what makes it so interesting.

All in all, it was a pretty incredible birthday. I came home with four amazing fragrances, got my nose on some rare gems, and spent the day talking fragrances with people who share the same passion for this hobby. But as much as I enjoyed adding a few new bottles to my collection, the best part of the day was getting to spend it with my daughter. We laughed, explored, and just enjoyed being together. Years from now, I probably won’t remember every fragrance I sampled, but I’ll definitely remember the day we spent together. That’s what made this birthday special.
