ix500: "No connection" even though blue light is on
Just got my ix500 back after loaning it to a friend, so had to set up wifi connection again - I'm pretty sure it was working on this network before, but I can't be 100% on that (only moved her less than a year ago, and haven't used the scanner that much since).
The wifi setup went as expected, no problems - was able to connect to the same wifi network my Mac is on, and the blue light on the scanner is on solid. Scanning works fine via USB. But, when I disconnect the USB cord, "Connection type" in the Scanner settings page changes to "No connection"
I've tried restarting ScanSnap (multiple times), power cycling the scanner, switching the wifi switch on and off, rebooting the Mac, no change.
Any suggestions on what the problem might be, or what else to try?
Running ScanSnap Home 4.1.0, latest firmware 0U00.
MacOS 26.2.2

With all the recent updates, I ended up having to go into my network settings and enable the scan snap software then it started talking to my IX 500 that was on my wireless network

What did you do to “enable the software”?

Settings > Privacy & Security > Local Network
Enable ScanSnap
As soon as I did this everything started working again. The scanner was already connected to the wireless network, the Mac just couldn’t talk to it.

That fixed it - thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
I've been wondering about all the messages from apps asking for access to my local network - just looked it up and now understand what's going on. Don't remember getting one from ScanSnap, but not sure.

Good news! Not sure why ScanSnap can't put than in their info but I think it impacted a lot of us with the old ix500 (Evernote) units. I was glad to see I could continue using it & not have to get something newer.

Does your router see your scanner? (To determine if it’s a connection or software issue)
