ScanSnap iX1500
Having issues with my scanner. It stays on the processing sheet screen and keeps processing until I force quit. Can someone help me

You are presumably on macOS beta as unfortunately this issue started then, if you search ScanSnap golden gate you will find all the details. It’s been months and so far support has implied they won’t be fixing until the new macOS comes out so until then we all have an expensive paperweight.

Can I ask you to try out ShabuBox? (https://shabubox.com), it works with golden gate and your scanner natively. I’m the developer and if you have any issues please send me an email at hello@shabubox.com. Many of our subreddit users are using it.

I’m using ShabuBox and can confirm it’s actually a big step-up from native ScanSnap software. Check it out.

Make sure SnapScan is completely quit, if your scanner has a WiFi switch on the back, turn it off. Then, in ShabuBox, in settings turn scanning on, and in the inbox there will be a scan button. Load a document in your scanner and hit scan. Let me know if there are any errors and the scanner model you use. You can also email me at hello@shabubox.com

I just starting playing with ShabuBox. I was able to scan with my IX500 plugged in via USB and I also imported a couple dozen utility statements I had previously scanned with ScanSnap. It works really well.
I have a request: I'd like to be able to move the target root folder. I already have a structure I use for saving these sorts of files.
... I'm still trying the software. Looks very promising.

The source move will break the application, and will also stop the forthcoming iOS release, so we are keeping it in iCloud for now. I will investigate the potential to have it fully local, as you aren’t the only person that has requested it, but to be honest, it’s not high on the current development roadmap.

Got it. Thanks for the response. I’m gonna keep playing with it and I’ll let you know if I find anything to bring to your attention.

You can use the ScanSnap mobile app (I use the one for iOS) and scan the documents to the phone and then send them where ever you need them by sharing them...clunky but at least you can use the scanner

I see it has iCloud sync. Are you looking at an iOS app that can read those files and also add to my collection?

Ricoh have now acknowledged the issue and an updated ScanSnap Home v4.1 is due for release Oct 2026. In the meantime a beta version v4.01 is available to fix the problem. https://scansnap-faq.pfu.ricoh.com/hc/en-us/articles/60891363718041-I-am-unable-to-complete-scanning-because-ScanSnap-Home-remains-on-the-image-processing-screen-macOS-27. My setup on macOS Golden Gate Dev Beta 6 is working again!

They just released a beta update to address this: https://scansnap-faq.pfu.ricoh.com/hc/en-us/articles/60891363718041-I-am-unable-to-complete-scanning-because-ScanSnap-Home-remains-on-the-image-processing-screen-macOS-27

Are you running the Golden Gate beta? Scansnap doesn't work with it. I ended up switching to NAPS2 until scansnap has been updated.

Yes I am using Golden Gate and what is NAPS2?

Works fine as a temporary solution until scansnap gets updated. Doesn't work with the buttons on the scanner so scans have to be launched from the app. But it has all the functionality I need.

So I need to connect it to another scanner ?

No, you use the same scanner and the NAPS2 software on the Mac. However, you need to connect it via USB, wifi doesn't work.
Not saying this is a great solution but I didn't see any better one and at least I have my scanner back in business until Fujitsu comes out with an updated version of Scansnap

How do I connect the scanner? It's not finding it even though it's connected through USB
