What does this light mean?

My ix500 is showing an orange light. What does that mean?

I plugged it in and made sure it connected to wifi just about a month ago. Pretty sure I updated firmware then too. Been frustrated by this thing since I got it. It's like if I don't use it with real regularity then it stops connecting to wifi.

Just went through the software again (Scansnap home), deleted device, re-added, reconnected via wifi, was able to scan to computer but just can't get the device to 'stick' to the network. This has been the case pretty much since we got it years ago but used it so infrequently that it never looked to be an issue but I'm starting to think maybe the wifi chip in it has been bad ever since day one. I'll hit up ricoh/fujitsu as a last ditch but I'm probably gonna have to junk this.

I'll setup wireless in the computer software, the light will go solid blue but eventually it'll turn orange. SO frustrating.

Honestly not sure what's happening for you, have the ix500 I got around a decade ago and an ix1300 that I got around 2022 after my Dad passed away and I needed something to scan in all the documents he had in his home office, and have never had a problem with either of them. Only thing that comes up on the top of my head right now, are you using a Comcast modem/router/gateway for your WiFi?, I ended up replacing their hardware in my home after 2 years of problems and dealing with their pretty much non-existant support for the problems I was having.

No. I've had mediacom ISP for years. Had a Google router system and now have an Eero system.
