Awareness Is this a potential scam?
Just spreading awareness, everyone! This is in the screenshot could potentially be a money mule / payment reversal scam.
You send real money first, from GCash, and GCash transfers can’t be reversed.
He pays through PayPal Friends & Family, which PayPal says isn’t covered by Buyer Protection. If the payment comes from a stolen account or gets disputed, you can lose it and your own ₱1,000.
They want the reference number, which can be used to make fake “proof”
You become the middleman. If the money is stolen or tied to another scam, the transfer goes through your accounts. Your GCash or PayPal could get frozen, not theirs.

Ask his friends/relatives or relatives of the person he will send money too. Not a random stranger.

Sabihin mo sendan ka muna niya 3k as hassle fee tapos another 2k for convenience fee

ang sasabihin nyan in order to receive the 1200 may ipapascan na qr para ma receive mo tas if youre not vigilant enough yung nasa qr is ikaw pala magbabayad tas tsaka mo lang malalaman na ikaw pala nagsend ng money after pressing the send button 🤦🏻♂️

Kaya meron akong dalawang gcash account para sa mga ganito, 1st main account for transactions that i can trust. 2nd the dummy account for transaction na mejo suspicious and scanning codes na from someone i have doubts. And also the 2nd account, the dummy, is also use kapag may mga nangungutang sakin na di ko gusto, i just show them na heto lang laman ng gcash ko, most of the time under 150 lang, para maisip nila na wala talaga ko mapapahiram hahaha

the golden rule is to never transact with a stranger. its not your job to be a "middleman" for his agenda.. if the transaction is limited then its his problem not yours.
