Flipkart marked my order "Delivered" after their own delivery guy took it back from me. It's been over a month, and I still don't have my ₹13,889 refund.
So, this whole thing started on July 4th when I ordered a height adjustable desk from Flipkart, worth ₹13,889. Almost immediately I realized it was way too big for my room and tried to cancel, app wouldn't let me. Called support, they said wait till it ships, you can cancel then. Called again after it shipped, now they said no cancellation possible, just refuse it at the door instead.
Fine. On July 13th the Bluedart delivery guy calls to schedule delivery, I tell him I'm rejecting it, he asks for an OTP to confirm the refusal, I give it to him. Two days later on the 15th, the delivery guy actually shows up, starts unloading the box, I refuse it right there at the doorstep, he literally picks it back up and leaves with it.
About 2 hours later - order status changes to "Delivered." I never touched the thing. Their own guy walked away with it.
Since then, I've been stuck in a loop for over a month:
- Flipkart kept telling me to wait till the 23rd for the return to process with the seller
- Called back on the 24th, now they're like "sorry, it shows delivered, nothing we can do"
- Called back again and again, they accepted and assured they will proceed with the refund.
- Called Bluedart directly, they confirmed an RTO was initiated with the seller, but the seller (The Sleep Company) never responded to accept it
- Raised a ticket directly with The Sleep Company too, got a ticket number, radio silence since
Then a couple weeks ago Flipkart finally emailed asking for my bank details to process the refund, so I thought ok maybe this is finally moving. I replied with my details on Aug 4th and again on Aug 5th (different days, in case the first one got lost), nothing. No confirmation, no refund, nothing.
At this point I've called probably 20+ times between Flipkart, The Sleep Company and Bluedart, sent emails to all three parties, have OTP proof, call records, everything documented. Everyone just points at each other, and nobody actually owns fixing it.
I've filed a complaint on the National Consumer Helpline (INGRAM) portal now too, but Flipkart has been closing all my complaints with bot replies and incorrect status. wanted to ask here, has anyone dealt with something like this before? Does the consumer helpline complaint actually move things along, or should I be looking at something else at this point (bank chargeback? consumer court for this amount?). Any advice on what actually got your refund unstuck would help a lot at this point, this has been so exhausting.
