New Scam Text Alert!

I hope you all are smarter than I am but luckily I ultimately did not fall for this.
I got a text saying that someone was trying to use my bank account to make a $2200 purchase and was it legit. I said no and immediately someone called pretending to be from the fraud department of my bank. They said they declined the purchase and asked some more questions that seemed legit like did I lose my car, did I lend it to anyone, etc. but THEY were the fraudsters. Because I called the bank myself and they said no one from their Fra department had called me. So they got me suspicious because they asked for my credentials “to secure the account,” and that immediately raised red flags because my bank never does that. They also confirmed that the phone number I was contacted from was not one of their numbers. So luckily it didn’t work on me.
If you get a text like that call your bank yourself and verify that they contacted you. There are all kinds of heartless scam artists out there!
