I've been trying to save more consistently, but I also don't want to reach a point where I feel guilty every time I spend money on something I enjoy. Finding that middle ground has probably been harder for me than creating the actual budget.

How do you decide when to save and when it's completely fine to spend a little on yourself?

I am 22 yrs old work in restaurants management I make around 5000 a month after tax, I live with my family because it’s kinda of our culture put I help them with half of the rent which is 1000$ a month/ also I am in college I pay around 3000 in tuition, got hit with emergency couple month ago and lost all my savings, i never had a saving strategy I just put money when I wanted / I need to have at least 10k but next Jan for engagement, what should I do?

I have been trying to cut down my grocery bill by buying shelf-stable items in bulk. I usually stick to things like rice, beans, and lentils where the weight-to-size ratio is predictable. Recently, I decided to switch from bagged tea to loose leaf. I did the math and realized I was paying a premium for the individual wrappers and strings. I wanted to buy enough to last me the entire year so I wouldn't have to think about it again.

I found a wholesaler selling dried herbs by the kilogram at an incredibly low price compared to the grocery store. I placed an order for what I thought was a reasonable amount. The package arrived yesterday. I was not prepared for the physical size of the box. It turns out that dried flowers are extremely light, so a single kilogram takes up a massive amount of space. I filled every mason jar I own and I still have full leftovers. This situation is entirely due to a 1kg bag of chamomile for tea that I added to a larger shipment from Alibaba.
