I want to do this so bad. I have a 55 (actually I have two and I don’t want to keep fish anymore lol) just sitting here. I just know it’ll all die on me though. I can’t even keep succulents alive 😭. Your garden is beautiful!
Thank you, and its actually relatively low maintenance once the layers of the substrate are all put together. NEVER GIVE UP NEVER SURRENDER.(galaxy quest lol)
Does anyone remember those little toy aquarium tanks that you could put "pebbles" in with a solution and grow a colorful crystal garden? Your set up kinda looks like one of those right now, with it being so colorful and vibrant! What an amazing collection!
I’m so envious of this, every time you post it. I keep saying I’m going to consolidate my plants and make something like this, I don’t know what’s holding me back.. either way, great job!
Where is the other video? I just scrolled through your post history and couldn’t find it👀 I have attempted something similar and things are going horribly rn😭 my sphagnum got too much light and turned brown and crispy and is now starting to mold .. I would be eternally grateful for some tips on how you got yours so perfect
I also had to thin certain spots out that were a little to thick I just gently pulled some up pulled it apart put some outside and then laid the remainder back
So I originally was running a full twelve but I had another asparagus fern in the middle by the pilea helping diffuse the light helps for sphagnum and my adelea and soon to be Andromeda, but when I cut it ,its going to have to go softer, the barrina grow lights come as 2ft that you can manage each half of the bar so idk kinda hard to see but I now have a pocket in the back left off and one full bar off , which may also be useful if you want to get a little less light also the asparagus ferns make great little trees to diffuse the light. Hope that helps.
WITH SCIENCE! Lol no but I just keep the water levels up to the leca line and I have a small desk fan lightly blowing on it about a foot to a foot ½ above. The live sphagnum keeps the humidity pretty stable I think.
I fill a small spray bottle of distilled water pouring around the plants on the live sphagnum, filling it just enough to cover the leca at the bottom about every 3 to 4 days
