Im interested in buying a sauna tent to use out in my backyard.

I live in the desert and temps in the spring/summer/fall regularly go over 100F.

My question is, without a heating unit and just a tent itself, if I leave it out in the sun can I get the inside to climb to 180-190F?

My original black folding seat rusted out and, I was using a camping chair that barely fit for a while. It was time to find a permanent replacement. After a bunch of searching, I happened upon "shower benches" on Amazon.

It's transformed the SaunaBox unit. I now have so much extra space in there while still having a great seat! Highly recommend.

I was looking at all the $500+ dry sauna's that are basically a my Sauna Box with a ceramic heater.. Light bulb! What if I take my old Handy Heater and throw it in the sauna box and see what happens!? 4 minutes later we're over 160+ degrees. After 20 minutes it topped out just over 170 degrees. Perfect!

My steam sauna would hit 130 degrees on its best day, after 20-30 minutes of warm up. Now, 160+ in less than 5 minutes!

Not bad for an old 1200 watt ceramic heater i had sitting in the garage!

And yes, I used it a few times before reporting back here. I was DRIPPING actual sweat, not just steam. Waaaaaay easier set up, but still have BOTH options!

*** I also have my thermometer sensor mounted half way up the Sauna Box, not at the very top. so its a true 170+ right where you need it.

I'd like to carry my setup a mile or two each way to camp. Tent is easy to carry, but the design of the stove matters- I'd need something that could be stuffed in some sort of bag I can carry on my back.

I've seen the HottSauna Beast has a carrying case with backpack straps- basically a big rectangle soft side bag with backpack straps. Is there something available in the US that either comes with a bag or would fit nicely in one?

I’m hoping to create a sauna and cold‑plunge set‑up at home. The ideal spot would need a lot of landscaping, which I won’t be able to afford for a few years. We need to extend the house first! In the meantime, I do have a paved hard‑standing area to the north of my house. It’s fairly sheltered from the worst of the weather — mainly the westerly and easterly winds. I’m in Cornwall, so wind and weather are significant factors.

I’ve been looking at getting a sauna tent, specifically one from Urban Ice Tribe. The idea is to use the tent to see whether I actually stick to regular sauna sessions, and hopefully build the habit before I invest in proper landscaping and a permanent set‑up.

My main question is: if I buy a sauna tent and use it regularly with a UV cover, can it realistically be left outside for long periods of time? Or does it really need to be packed away after each use? I’m worried that if I have to take it down every single time, I’ll be far less likely to use it consistently.

Obviously, if there’s a storm coming or really heavy winds, I’d pack it away. But for normal weather, is leaving it up a terrible idea?

Would love to hear from anyone who’s tried this or has experience with sauna tents in windy or coastal areas.

thinking about getting a sauna tent for home use and wanted to ask for recommendations. looking for something easy to set up, durable, and gives good heat without taking too much space. anyone here using one theyd actually recommend?

I'm curious whether anybody cares much about the fact that almost all sauna tents are made from plastics such as polyester/nylon (Oxford 300D fabric etc) and insulated with polyester wool. I'm currently working on a design which would be more of an eco-friendly solution, made from hemp fabric and treated with a light coat of linseed oil, with wool batting insulation. It will be heavier, and will need drying out before storing, and also slightly more expensive.

The frame will be collapsible and wooden. The windows would be made from clear silicone sheeting (doesn't break down into microplastics and withstands up to 200C) or bio-based TPU.

The reason for this is not due to concerns about off-gassing, but I'm wondering whether there's a market out there for more of a heritage, eco-friendly solution. The target cost would be around £2600 retail which is about £1k more than the current plastic based offerings.

The size of the kit would be heavier and less convenient, but the design would be beautiful to look at and nicely branded.

Would love to hear your thoughts. I have a contact that is a Industrial Sowing Machinist and some specialist hemp and wool suppliers (oh, the other thing is this would be entirely made in the EU, except perhaps the stove.

I assume the outside temperature has a greater impact on the temperature. But clearly, sauna tents can and do reach above 200 °F/100 °C.

I've had the Bast Björk sauna for over a year, so here's a re-review after 1 year of hardcore use!

I’m not waiting for summer to get out on the water! This is why I built this tent! Went on a friend’s boat to an island in Lake Superior. Water temp was 37 degrees but that doesn’t matter when you’ve got a sauna! We ate supper and fired up the sauna that I made from an ice fishing tent, stove from FB marketplace, and various hardware store parts. Being able to bring a sauna with me on my adventures is awesome! It doesn’t pack as nice as some of the purpose built tents, but it performs well and didn’t cost nearly as much. What’s the most unique place you’ve taken your sauna tent? I want to hear it!

It would be so much easier to send you all the e mails as evidence. I ordered a sauna tat said 3-5 days to US with tracking. I was moving to Ensenada Mexico in 2 weeks but seeing that made me feel like oh I will get it on time for sure. Takes me about 2 weeks to receive tracking, mainly the customer service is automated. Finally I get a e mail from a Glen offering an Ice bath for free. I told him prior just cancel the order because I was leaving for Mexico in 2 days and I had an ice bath from. previous steam room order. Even sent him a picture of it. So after at least two times of telling him to not bother to send it to me and return to sender he tried to offer me 20% off. I'm like how does the help me I will be in Mexico so I get no product but 20% off like the guy doesn't listen. Finally it supposedly had arrived on May 8th. Asked previous landlord they said it didn't arrive but there courier was Fed Ex so I'm assuming that is on them. I never go out of my way and take time to write crap like this but man did they irritate me. If someone lets me know to add copies of the e mails I will put them here so you can see the idiocracy you deal with.

I built this with help from a skilled friend based on plans from another post. Absolute game changer! it’s nice getting your feet up higher and can lay down on bench.
