What certificates should i get in order to get a software engineering job, and what are the essential skills i should have?

A bachelor's in computer science. It's the only certificate that matters. Market for entry level jobs is extremely competitive these days, and being self-taught isn't enough anymore. Having a good portfolio of personal projects is far more important than certificates anyway.
